I just recently got 3d studio max, and I know that web tutorials can only take one so far, but I need to learn the interface and I don't mine saying that it's pretty complex. So anyway, I'm looking for some good uh...primer type tutorials online that could possibly be particularily good... uh... yeah you get the idea...

I would recommend "Mastering 3d studio Max" from Sybex publishers. It's $50.00, but it's worth it. Gives a nice overview and covers lot's of ground. I tried learning through online tuts, but as complex as max is, you need to understand how it works, which this book explains. If you aint got the money though, I would recommend 3dcafe which has some good tuts.

mmm... The best book for any program is the manual. The manual for 3d studio max is quite good if you take your time to read it and the tutorials are easy to follow. but i'm guessing your program was a *cheap version* eh?

learn on the web. dont wast your money on book/cd/videos till your fair confident with everything. then get a cool FX character ani or something. the best way to learn if open max and click every where;-) trust me it works.

also http://catgirl.mokushi.net i have some basic max tut's also ask any max questions in my forum. :-) hope that helps
