Well... it comes down to how boring your life is, and if you're willing to start turning your body into one big weird chemical reaction to combat that boredom. Are you? When I was younger I stayed away from drugs and alcohol, but as I get older I can certainly understand more why people might want to get high. It's a cheap trick, it doesn't solve anything, but it makes you feel ok for awhile... is that worth it? I don't know, myself. Just have to explore different things and pick the best path.

Enayla, I drink alcohol, not because it IS alcohol, but because it tastes good. Simple. Sure, there are millions of stiff drinks that taste like what you mentioned, but there are an equal amount of drinks that taste good.
And some of them you just can't make without alcohol. If someone chooses not to drink (like I did earlier), it's the same as with vegetarianism(sp?) etc.: knock yourself out, but do NOT tell me what I should do. I like deciding for myself, and with that decision I also let other people decide for themselves. (Just don't pass judgement without trying it yourself first )

And remember kids, even sugar can be abused.

Did I even /once/ say in my post that I give a shit about what other people do?

I've had lots of friends who enjoyed drinking, I never tried to stop them. It's their business, not mine. I don't go around harrassing people who drink though I find that many of THEM do bug me about it.

"Why don't you drink?" "Aww, come on, you know you want to!" "You can drink just for me!" "It tastes so good, I promise, just try it out."

Blaha. I don't give a damn whether or not other people drink - I don't, I never had. I do care if they suddenly think they can grope me just because they happen to be drunk.
