Man oh man... You've got so much talent, that pic is so good on it's own... Why the filters? Katana, man... Those filters are killing the pic. |

Please repost this image without the cloud background or the pink lensflares - and a little bigger too. Looks like a real nice bita work that you've screwed up with filters.

i dunno. i dug the cloud filter...
maybe if you overlayed an aerial view of a city underneath him... give him a sense of extreme altitude.

I know this a comic-style-character
but IMO his hands are just too
big and his stomach is just too thin
I know that you can play around with propotions and so on
but in this case it doesn't work for me
that good
I think a character should look ''right''
and it doesn't matter how strong you abstract
it
hope you understand what I mean
well at least that were my two cents/pfennig

I like it. The messy proportions take the humanoid feel away a bit and make i look.....inhuman. Yay!

thanks everyone for your comments. personally I like the "filter" version better but that might be because I have an unhealthy . . . fetish? for filters. (it's just another tool on the belt, right? Right?. . . maybe not.) I chose to do the proportions this way because he is in fact inhuman but nevertheless I don't really like the hands specifically his right hand. Maybe I'll go back and fix that when I'm more grown up. |

I agree, not only do the lens flares stand out as horrible, evil, icky photoshop lens flares, they really divert your attention from the important part of the picture - the dude. I DO like the clouds, though. They do a good job of balancing out the picture. But they get too white too quickly at the bottom. Once again, a problem with dragging the viewer's eye where it shouldn't be. |

Very nice silhouette.
I would NOT put the clouds back in, but I like that structure he's standing on, even if it seems like an afterthought.
Not a bad start. |
