LOL Ian, I logged on to the internet intent on posting a message about how fucked up TV really is.
Here's why:
I had half an hour or something of time to kill and made the mistake of watching TV (was pretty much the first time in weeks, normally I don't watch TV except for REALLY GOOD movies).
So what did I see: MTV showing the stupidest video clip of all time (Baha WHATSTHEIRNAME: Who let the dogs out), RTL II with a news item that Gwyneth Paltrow is afraid of loosing her hair, some country channel with some Bavarian soap opera, a stupid game show, an American comedy series that felt the need to insert artificial laughter after every sentence the actors spoke, etc etc AND SO ON.
I can't believe people can actually stand watching this CRAP. I can't FUCKING believe it. It's things like that that make me pessimistic about the future. I really fear that 95 percent of humanity will transform into dumb, mindless, careless, unhappy people.
I already see a development that's scaring me, in connection with the state's elections that will be held here soon. People decide which party to vote for not because they favor that party's ideas but they really FUCKING DECIDE WHOM TO VOTE FOR BASED ON THE CANDIDATE'S GOOD LOOKS OR HIS TV COMMERCIALS ! I mean, that's exactly the way Hitler won the elections. Every little thing he planned was ready available in his book "Mein Kampf". He told every thing he planned there, including his plans for world domination, including his plans for the extinction of all political opposition, including his wish to KILL all jews. But nobody cared, they all just had a look who had designed the best looking poster and slogan.
And the people believe whatever crap the "BILD" newspaper writes. IMHO this newspaper should be forbidden. They take old pictures of our politicians and cut pieces away / manipulate them to make it look like those politicians were leaders of militant gangs. Their opinion switches political sides every day.
The people fall for stupid TV commercials and all this shit.
Our society is deteriorating, and there's no two ways about it. I am 19 years old and something tells me that I shouldn't be worried about the behaviour of our youth, but I am. Me and some friends talked to a teacher last summer and he said it was really scaring him and reassuring him in his opinion about today's youth that even we as young people complain about the moral deterioration in today's youth, even though we are still part of it, and I tend to agree with him.
I could rave on and on about this but you get the idea.
Sorry about leaving this thread's original topic but I just had to get this off my mind. I guess it's just a confusing rant now, but whatever.

i think my opinion on this subject is pretty valid, i don't practice the jewish religion, but i do have a lot of jewish blood in me. I think World War Two was a confusing time for the whole world, people knew of the conflict going on and they all had to deal with it one way or another, that usually meant following their government...i'm not trying to justify anything, i'm just saying that in confusing times values and the truth can become blurred and conrtrolled. The german government for instance, at the end of the war Hitler had told his advisers to destroy all of their raliraod stations, power transformers, all of the major parts of their industry, if they were invaded. It's like he wanted the whole country to commit suicide along with him. I think it was the German government at the time, not the people, that were responsible for the atrocities of ww2. The citizens were just as confused as the government. The people looked towards the government for leadership, and the government looked towards the jews for the justification of their problems. What happened in Germany could have have happened anywhere if the environment and conditions were right. |

Well, I agree with most of the german statements...
but, I for myself think that neo-nazism gets worse. Where I live youth really splitted in two. On the one side Nazis and on the other side Homies(right word? mean Hip - Hopper)/Skater, Punks, Anti-fascists and people with foreign origins. And although I just don't wont to bother anybody or beat somebody up, I always get in trouble. I guess me and my friends are considered something between punks and skaters... but the problem is, that not only the fascists hate us and hunt us... also the people from other countries hate us, because they just see white rascists in us. I had to learn that the hard way several times in my hometown and the surroding cities; in Hannover and Berlin.
Well, I won't complain. I got used to run when they're on my heels.
But, I just don't understand. Maybe we have a foreign-german lurking here. Maybe even a turk? Then tell me... why do u just try to beat everything that walks? We try to help you and fight against your foes...
"the foe of my foe is my friend" think about that...
