I'm sorry but I was just checking your thread when the hut pic started whispering to my ear.. "Define me more... Gecko, you know you want to..". First I thought nah, it already looks good, but the pic just wouldn't stop its whispering! I was about to snap but then, after 20 minutes of inner struggle gave in and put in some more detail... after all that's what the pic needed, otherwise it would've been cursed to forever wander meaninglessly upon Earth whispering it's sad story to passers-by.
Oh, and the stair perspective was really odd.
Hope you don't mind. :]

You already know I love this stuff, Binke. Anyway, the shading on the sphere. It really depends upon the material the sphere is made of. For example, if the sphere is made of photons converging upon each other and held together by its own gravity (sort of like a mini-nebula) then there would be no shading, since there is no defined mass (photons are not matter).
However, if it were a golden sphere with a self-illuminating halo (which is technically impossible) it still would not have the hard shading you have created. Instead, it would be a slight intensity change from the outside of the sphere to the center (with the center being the brightest). |
