I was just looking at all of Spooge's stuff again. I just started painting and i guess a lot of what I saw stuck. This was an experiment to see if I could break down some of the Spooge techniques. I'm nowhere close.
Anyway, its a thick, dirty, well-lived-in-but-now-abandoned sort of place. I just slapped the ships in there to give it
depth.
[edit] and here's the picture...heh.

You're getting some interesting stuff going on there Isric, but you need to think about a few things. Firstly, how about a better idea of the deph and structure3 of the stuff in the image? The light should play off that. Check out movies like Alien or The Abyss and see how they light stuff like that. Second, how about fewer scribbles? Big shapes, then break them down. You're certainly improving though-keep it up!

Hey... really dig that. Like the play of light in there. Just refine it |

cool. like it. esp, the colors.
Maybe you could do something more with the spaceship, since that's kind of the more important part of the picture. Some of the highlight lines around the closest silhouettes could be more than just around the edges and maybe more subtle highlights, gives a bit "plastic" look when they are so litted. But, nice work as always, Isric, you are extremely talented for your age.

You people don't seem to realize that Isric NEVER finishes his pictures. =)
Great use of color, as always. I love the big circular things that look like clockwork. |

that's cool.
something i've figured is that using a variety of shapes and line thicknesses really makes for a stronger image. all your highlights are on the edges of the objects. try lighting the whole face or using different thicknesses to define the shape and see where that gets ya. i'm mostly refering to the bottom portion of the picture.

I'm liking where your goin with the dark scenery...but get rid of the scribbles for sure. And, I'm a bit confused as to what perspective it is...like what direction the scene is taking the viewer. It appears to be angled from bottom to top.
im experimenting with his crazy theory, but im in need of some help too
good start, keep it goin Isric

Personally i think the colors are cool. It's like a spaceship/sub with its flood lights swooshing around the interior of some decrepit alien house of doom.
I think it's very cinematic, which as far as im concerned, is the way to go |

Very nice. I'm in a commenting mood, I guess.
This is really nice. It's perhaps a little unclear in places, but good use of color in my humble opinion.
