Yeah, me again, haven't posted much of my stuff in a while. I was just testing out shading techniques. Its pretty k00 just using 3 or 4 shades to a color to give the pic depth, this is wut i did. I originally didn't draw the fireball, and i know the lighting color is wrong because of it, I just stuck it there because i thought he should be lookin at sumthin

The lighting looks nice on his hand & face, but I do think it could definately use some more shades 'n color!
Question, do you paint directly or start with a sketch?

Well, i do them both. If i have an idea and know wut its gonna look like, i draw with block colors first, then add shadows and shades of those colors. If i just have a rough idea of wut i want, i draw a sketch, often modify it again and again and work it to perfections, then do blocks of color and shades. Thanks for your reply.!

well im not good advising people.. heh, but i like the pic nonetheless.. he looks sadistic.. however the fireball seems out of place, put something else there (for now)

Hrmm, here's my retake at it.. I tried to emphasize his facial expression, and the lighting as well.
The realistic look and colors of a human face aren't accurate, though. Hair also sucks-ass But what do you get for 1 hour's work..
