No time to talk, must sleep. Worked on this for 3 hours. Must go to bed. Look forwad to hearing your comments in the morning. Thanks guys.

(edit) and P.S. its a big picture, not very compressed. But please have patience if it takes to long. Goodnight.

Good morning Isric!
Nice and moody picture.
I really like the tree and the lights(fire flies?) Colours are very nice.
Some crits:
The head on the lady there, seems a little bit too big and the neck seems to be connected wrong with the body. Can you see it? Maybe it's just me..
Great work!

Actually, I think the head face and neck are the best parts of this piece. Very nice feel to it, and great colour.

My only crits are the perspective on the hard/forearm wrapped around the intrument, and the legs... is her far leg cross over the near one, or is that the near leg? Eitherr way, the legs seem a bit too long and a bit wacked..

Very nice stuff!

sleept well?

like that one
very cool pose
but I think her legs are a bit off
if there wasn't this cool instrument
you would see whats wrong at once
for me it's the connection between legs and butt
the head is big but still looks right

it has a really nice mood Isric, but there are some problems with the anatomy which have been mentiond. head, neck, leg, won't repeat them here.

I really like the subject matter. the bard is something I used to draw a bit ages ago when I couldn't draw^_^ I'm doing some non-violent stuff atm. it's a nice change from the blam blam stuff

but anyway, i like your style a lot. keep posting.
peace out,
sear
ps: one question, is this a pencil sketch colored in photoshop? (or painter)

Hey Isric

nice image you got going here. There a few things I was noticing upon closer inspection, I think most of them caught by the previous posters.

The connection of neck to head looks a bit odd and I think it's either the angle of the chin or the height of the ear on the side of the head...it looks like it should be higher. The leg does look like there's something wrong with it and you used the instrument like the 'hands in pockets or behind the back' syndrome, hehe (you all know you used to do that).

Which brings me to what I like about the image and that would be the hands, really digging the pose of, well, the one hand that's showing at least. The texture on things like the dress is nicely done and I like the choice of color scheme. I like the line art that I see underneath, it's certainly a style that I like. Also interesting is how you apparently didn't pencil in any of the background so there's a kind of blurring effect between that and the character giving a sense of depth.

Well, keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.

ooh, nice isric!! I know you like to try out different things, but your pictures are so much more appealing when you have a character in it, guess it's because you are very good at it Btw, the head is to big, as micke said, fix that and it will kick mucho ass!

This is really nice picture. The head may or may not be too big (exaggeration seems to help this picture) but there are some problems in it.

It seems there are some problems with perspective. The chin is mostly drawn like it would be from side view. I think you should be able to see under her chin in that view.

Part of the problem with the neck is the shoulders are too low and theres not enough "back". Also, her ears seem to be placed low.

Another problem with her neck is the body is thrusting forward and the head is thrusting back but the neck is straight.

This will look nice finished as is but even better if some problems are fixed.

Cozy and warm! Really nice, isric. But where are the strings on the lower part of that instrument? And the opening on it looks...well..odd.
I love the warm glare and the easy feel on her expression. Nice one!

really cool idea, mostly cool execution. i REALLY like her left hand. i also agree with the crits above, but i'd like to add something else:

what is the grey stuff behind the tree? i think the picture would get a lot more depth if you created something that was more recognizeable & three dimensional. even if its really rough, i think i'd like that better.

I really like the style, and the dream-like background. Can that style be done in photoshop or painter classic?

maybe it's just me, but her left cheek (*HER* left, not ours) seems a little too protuberant.

strings, already mentioned...legs same...

i really like the subject matter and the general feel of the pic. keep it up!

your colors and values are strong, but you need to work on the structure of your figure that takes alotta practice though.

Isric, your stuff is awesome. One thing that bothers me. Her face looks to masculine. Maybe it's me. The background could use a little more detail, but its got a nice magical feeling about it. Good stuff

Holy...I had no idea I would get this many responses. Thank you all very much for your input. When I finished the sketch it looked great, and when it was finished I finally saw all the mistakes. Definitely gonna remember all you said next time.
Thats why I love this place. Dang, 28 comments.

If anyone else wants to add to this, or hasen't seen it yet or whatever, still feel free.

thats really incredible isric, especially considering your age! i think this is my favorite one by you, and the old man on the pier 2nd.

it's inspired me for my next picture, something non-violent and tranquil
