Very nice, if you think its messy surely 3 more mins of refinement would do the trick?.

This is not messy at all, this is great work. You have REALLY improved your hatching since the first hatching I saw of you. Your level of productivity has always amazed me. Incredible.

Whoa...freaky Micke scared the hell out of me I can almost hear that sinister laugh now...MUUHAHAHA. I agree about the leftside(ourleft) of the forhead being a little messy, but; I think it looks great.

I like it, but I think it lacks the charisma of the black and white pictures you did a bunch of a while back. Otherwise, I think that hatching works pretty well, but maybe finer lines would help it look less messy?

Looks pretty cool Micke, reminds me alot of the Scott Lee inking style when he was inking Jim Lee's stuff. I agree with A buttle about thinning some of the lines out on the face might make it look better.

Is that the kinda sadistic thing that comes to mind when you look at the expression in his face, eh Nori? Heh, looks neat for a quickie, I like it a lot.

I was going to say some stuff, but I think Nori hit the nail right on the head on this one. |

Not too messy but not the best. Its a bit over inked and its too low contrast for the style. You need to bring the darks stronger or tone down the mids.
The technique is good though. just over done.

That's some good hatching. Oh, I see some cross-hatching too :P Excellent line work underneath it as well! |

hey micke, nice drawing, i like the expression he has. only place that seemed too messy to me was the forehead area around the highlight.

hey mickie. Nice drawing as usual Only comment would be on the hatching. Hatching can be very graphic but it can also mess up a otherwise nice drawing. The biggest benefit of hatching I think is how you can suggest form. For the most of this picture I think you have got the hatching to define form quite well, especially on the lower part of the face. But I think your hatching on the fronthead, nose and the upper eyelid works against form, leaving a 'messy' look as you call it yourself. Maybe a little more thought into each stroke would be called for? I have tried hatching myself many many times and how hard it is to do, and that's why I usually do solid shadowing only :/
Have you studied hatching by some of these artists? Moebius, Bernie Wrightson, Gary Gianni, Francois Schuiten, and Paolo Serpieri whom is the king of hatching if you ask me....

Very nice! Don't think it's too "messy", yet some more bright white areas might give it more shape. And I think full B/W contrast would look better than the gray BG, though it may be a little standard. But for a reason i think. But that's just my opinion, of course.

Hey Micke, nice stuff, I think it whould be cleaner if you made the lines darker. I like your minimalist stuff better, though, It looks somewhat like McFarlane's way of inking, filling the faces with lots of short lines, hehehehe. BTW I whould like my drawings to look THAT messy, hehehe
P.D: The connection to katode is always slow from spain, but, who cares, I'll wait if there's a reward ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |
