To all you guys at this wonderful forum!
Yes, the santa is supposed to be me
-sorry, I haven't been too active posting these last weeks. Me and micke has some sort of holiday, or what you may call it when the only thing you do is drinking and everyone else are at work

Hey Joachim,
This is quite excellent indeed!!! You should sell this to Ruud & Rye (Merry Christmas - thrust is clean shaven ) Very nice work, I want to do a Xmasdrawing too, but I'm a bit busy learning 3D.
Keep up the good work!

I think that this image has more dimension than most of your previous works. I think the change in lighting on the z-axis helps this. Nice job!

One more thing - is his/your right eye (our left) slightly open, as though he's giving the *hey watch it* kinda look..?

Joachim,
Wow, great piece. Would serve as a wonderful Christmas card (well, maybe ). I'm really liking how your style is taking a new form on its own, judging from your recent pictures. It seems you are going the route of caricature-incorporation with many of your pieces, such as the Walker, Texas ranger piece and your Showdown picture. Seems your face is engraved into your mind in alot of your paintings as well
I'd really love to see more of your figure drawing (from open sessions) sketches with this same incorporation of the caricature aspect. Your (and micke's) control over line and shape is truly great. That reminds me, would you like to sometime get together in a drawing board (and micke, too) and have a drawing party for Christmas? I dunno, it just seems it would be a really cool idea to have forum goers all contributing to an image. Reminds me of the times we drew on your board. Anyway, that is, if you have enough time (Email me some time ).
Well, keep up the great work, and Merry Christmas to yourself!

Yes, ***sniff*** this has finally put into tangible form (that is a precise, legal term) my feelings about Christmas. It has the feeling of old cheapo ads with the limited palette and heavy outline. And the drunken Santa getting ready to do God knows what to the little baby new year with that finger. It IS Christmas. You can see that baby knows that fat greasy finger is mighty cold.
Oh, the painting is really well done, too! |

So, my wishes and plans for the new year are: get on a diet, hehe and draw twice as much as this year and try to learn even more from it. I found this forum in january and it has been a HUGE inspiration and a big push for me to draw more, which I am endlessly happy for, because it is what I love the most. I guess a special thx must go to spooge and fred..since I found the forum through spooges site and for all the great art they have shown and all the valuable tips they have given -hope more will come next year too
