My Q is this; would you do alot of deatail on the background? Or would you leave it alone and keep it as it is?
Keep in mind that this pic is about 2/3 fin.
Any other comments are more then welcome.

weird combination of cuts and smooth gradients, is it going to be all one way or the other?
i kind of like the background the way it is, really pops out bats/supes, maybe try a quick mock-up and see how it works (?)
btw supermans lookin a little pale, might want to liven him up a little
nice work

Nice drawing, seems to me that you're influenced by Joe MAD.
The coloring is quite ok, though I would sharpen the light effects (like in batmans arm).
Also start with the background, it really effects the total drawing, make that cool and you image is great

I can't get to the pic.
Tweek: I'm just guessing, because I can't see the picture, but joemaduriera.com just posted the inks to Joe's Batman & Superman pinup. So, that may be the Joe Mad influence... because it is his drawing.
Golden Rule! Always give credit for the lineart artist. So, edit your first post and give Joe credit if this is the case. Thanks.

Nice coloring. Background choice is nice. Making it detailed MIGHT look better.

Woohoo! Finally can see the pic. Looks pretty neat. I haven't seen the comic yet (I think it is out). I actually started filling in the flats on this linework yesterday. After I finish another little *project I'll work on my version of this. |

hmm
i had to comment on this... its comic related, thefore i have to
hehe i think the joe mad signatire in the bottom right might have led to beilive he didnt draw it but yeah thats just me.
good choice of line art to color, but i think you went overboard on the brights... its like you have a seperate light source for every little bump and curve.. bat man is in front supes is on a different plane... should be different... and kep in mind hes called the dark knight for a reason... hehe too bright and happy ! but still very cool.
i think the background could use a little detailing but dont overdo it, cause it'll take away from the heros
overall. very cool

Take it easy on the dodge and burn!!! Ok with that said you need to do underpaintng. Like oil painters do and then go in and fill shadows and details like highlights in...instead of a solid color fill and the dodge and burning the crap out of it. Try not to use black for your shadows as it isn't really the way colors work. Keep trying though..practice makes perfect Liqued did'nt build rome in a day ! |
