It seems that every board has people asking "should I get a tablet..."
This is different, I've had my tablet for about a year, couldn't live without it.
Anyway, my question is simple - how often do people change the tablet nibs? I got 3 with mine, I'm on to the 3rd one now.
They seem to go blunt very quickly, so I'm wondering if I need to adjust my sensitivity and stop pressing so hard, or is it just the material they are made of.
Also, where can I get replacements? From Wacom by mail? I've never seen any in the shops.
Anyone know how much they cost?
Oh, my new portfilio site Stir it up and my main skins site Skinning 101
Edit: Wish I could speel.

the tips are very expensive (after all they are just pain plastic). If i remember right Tinisch said he uses plastic toothpicks as replacement and it works.. so maybe you wanna try that.
This topic has been around some time ago, use search and you'll find a lot of answers (where to get the tips and stuff)
P.S. Adjusting your pressure level setting can never be wrong |

I go through those quickly. I asked about this awhile ago, and B told me that toothpicks worked fine, but... I tried them and it didn't work. I tried every little chunk of plastic I could find, but only the Wacom nibs worked. Which sucks, because it's $20 for a pack of 5. |

Never replaced a nib either. I've had this pen for about a year.

Me neither. I still have all the nibs taped to the bottom of my tablet
$20? What a rip-off. Geez, you'd think they dicked you enough on the tablet. I should make a little mold, pour about 1000 of those things, and sell packs of 20 for $5 on ebay. |

Just noticed, you can sort of resharped then with a scalpel, then remove any roughness with very fine grade sandpaper.

I worked nearly 2 years at Ubi Soft with the same nib, and I've had the one at home for almost as long without ever changing it. Both were Intuous by Wacom -- perhaps different brands or models with different finishes wear off faster... but I'd be surprised. I'd try not pressing as hard... |

Now the new wacom pads don't even come with anymore nibs!
