I did this to get better aquainted with Painter and I love that program more and more... Well, it's pretty boring, but it was a good excersize in blending oils in Painter.
It was done with the "round camel hair" and "smeary round" brushes at varying sizes and opacity.

Original rez: 2300x2400 pixels
FullSize

Looking good. You probably noticed the face is a bit wide, but . it's all good I really like the hair at the bottom right. I can't find her neck. Anyway, Really great painting. Like how the eyes look as well.. you even made the corner of the eyes look wet

Thanks EvilToylet

I'm glad that you like the overall painting
I don't know about the neck... Is it too short? ...and, hmnn... the nose is probably too long, as is the distance from the eyes to the mouth.... I'm better at drawing small heads, I tend to screw the proportions exponentially with the resolution

Now on to something more dynamic... C ya.

hey ko.
It's looking very nice and polished painting which I think is also the weakness of the picture. She doesn't really have any features that makes her unique... Well, like you said yourself this was just a painter test, and we all know that one really need those tests to get something good out of painter. And it certainly looks like you have got a hold of the shading/painting part of painter. Looking forward to see that next more dynamic painting.

hey thats pretty nice. i like the style. i also really like the eyes. they seem to stand out.. to me anyway. the colours are also very nice. hard to make commnets about what need to be fixed, cause im assuming your not going for realism. only think i could suggest is work on the hair a bit more. refine it a bit and also the shading on the arms
