Hi all. Sorry to bother you with this again but does anyone know if there are any kinds of books out on art (digital) techniques and such. I really like that old demo scene VGA art, where they drew the pictures pixel by pixel and I would like to learn all their techniques (pixel by pixel only, no airbrushes or anything) because I believe that I will hugely improve my skills especially in detail. The reason that I need books is because I spend too much time on computer (12+ hours a day?) reading tutorials and such, but anything will be appriciated. Thanks for your time!

I still use Deluxe Paint for 2D games that cannot use a palette bigger than 256 colours. And it's quite nice.
Well, I really thought I was alone in the Earth with that *old* program.

Well i like to think that the program does not matter so much as the skill of the artist. A good artist can do a lot better picture on a crappy program than a crappya artist on a 1000$ program. Ive actually heard people say that using all the nice qualities in PS is cheathing but i think theyre just morons. If it is there why do it the hard way?

I used it to do inventory items for Baldurs' Gate 1 (since switched to psd), but I was the last man standing at the company who could use it, other than our lead programmer...(who is a pretty good painter, for a coder) Great program for palletized art. Otherwise a royal pain in the dos.
