I'm in the process of coloring J.S.Campbell's varient cover to Battlechasers #7.
Agian it is drawn by J.S.Campbell. It is not inked. (Which I think it would be far better inked.)

I wanted to get it done before the issue came out, but that didn't happen. I should have it done by tommorrow. I just wanted to post it now. I still need to do some highlights, effects, and the map.

I may go back and change some things. As I've now seen Liquid's version, and I made some very similar choices here and there that I'd rather be varied.

Think you need darker shadows and brighter highlights... The shoulder plate on the blue guy seems a bit odd to have the skin showing through like that. Might also want to add sparkle to the gems on the kid in the front and also going over with the path tool and restroking all the outlines would bring out the colors more. but anyway, great picture.. though seems a bit cluttered (but hey.aint your fault. ) Oh yah, great coloring as well. Think you did the girl on the left the best. could add more shine to her hair though.

J.S.Campbell is the man. Here it's impossible to buy new Danger Girl issue since 5 was out, they dissappear in one day

Seraphire: you did a great job. The values in the upper part of the image are especially nice, some highlights and it should be kicking arse Clothing on the green guy is somewhat strange looking, but other than that its really good.

Thanks for the great comments!

I wasn't finished with it yet. So some of the things you picked up on were due to me simply not getting to the section yet.

The image is now updated.

And I have the full sized version here. http://www.geocities.com/themonochrome/art/campbellbig.jpg

I'm really interested in some responces from everyone.

If he doesn't do it himself, I'll probably scan the Liquid version and show his.

I reworked the pic a little, based on some of the comments I recieved. If you want to compare the new and old, the big version is the old one.

it's a miracle to manage those kind of big pics with lotsa details - I never coloured such enormous compositions on the screen - hell that's an awesome c-job!
...wish I could end up with a similar profession and skill some time...well let's see...

Nice color job! I like it. No crits come to mind. Hm. A little more shadows, maybe. Then again, maybe not.
