I realize alot of professionals use Mac's for graphics. So which is better and why?
"In this corner, weighing in at 225 lbs., the dominant, the destructive, the "always ready to give you a blue screen of death", PC!!! and in this corner weighing in at 195 lbs. with a one button mouse, the plug-in play king!! MAC!!!"
*ding ding*
btw... sorry if this is a bit off the forum topic.

We have bought new hi-end Mac G4 but after our experiments we understood that it is not faster and not better then the same level PC. Also Mac's minus is that there is not such a big choice of software... |

It depends on your profession. And it's really all about preference. Wars of religion on Mac vs. PC never change anyone's mind. Neither platform is perfect. |

The only reason to use a Mac is personal preference (or so-called ease of use). Flexibility, availability of software and peripherals, and price/performance all favor the PC platform. |

I have worked on both Mac and PC for years and here is what I have found;
Mac have a bad rep for price and software variety, but in reality you get what you pay for and the software problem can be solved easily with the use of an emulator (only works one way). Mac are easy to use simply because they are well designed machines to the core and PC (IBM Pacards etc.) may seem more of a 'professional's machine' at first glance because of neumarous boxes and an interface sprawled with a ton of uncalled for info on things that do not relate to anything in particular but this is due to a crude design, not sophisticated complexity. Go for a Mac, the best use them to make the best - they just are best.

Mac or PC? for me this is a rhetorical question. Go for Mac. The new dual g4 just eats the Pentium 3 or 4, nomather that the last is running at 1.5Ghz. Most graphic programs are optimised for G4 and they just fly (ex. Photoshop 5.5 and 6, aftereffects). The color control is gust great the OS is fast and errorless. This machines are made to work with color.

While I prefer a Mac, if you're gonna use either, why not just use me? Use me. Use me up, baby...
