This is a design for a hut. I am doing this for a Childrens story that I am illustrating. The huts are actualy grown into the ground, with a little help from magic of course.
Now that I am looking at it I think if it had alot more roots it would look better.
Tell me what ya think.

wow, you just cooking up these kid's book ideas one right after another what a neat idea, too - the idea of the huts..
hm.
the pic looks too fuzzy to me. i'm not getting a clear feel of what the huts are made out of, and there's too many brushstrokes i think.
here:
i reduced the brushstrokes and attempted an alternative material.. neh.

You know.when i was a kid. I would get pissed of at illustrations that wouldn't say what they mean. like they go they stepped through a time machine and saw the rabbit.. and all i see is like some squiggles that look like a rabbit... Ok sorry, im taking out my childhood on you guys.
Anyway, I think that children would appreciate it if you actually did add some magical stuff in tehre. Perhaps maybe a little bit of sparkly dust and what not on the huts. Also..the hut looks alittle plain.... go for something more.. you know.... grander.
But...none the less I like the current one... cept the road to the entrance seems small and it looks like an onion...hehe |

Thanks guys...
Nova.. The reworks are very nice. The look you did on the right one is more along the lines of what a final pic will look like.
EviLToYLeT... This is the first time I drew this so there are defenetly more versions to come. I was thinking of haveing the Roots proping it up in the air. I also thought it was plane.. But its a rough.
The actual idea is that like buying a house a couple would go down and pic out a seed in a pot. The seeds would be catagorized by how many rooms are in the house that is to be grown from it. The more rooms, the more it costs. Land must then be purchest and then the pot with the seed can be planted. ((You can see the pot ontop of the house. Little red thing)) The house will then grow in a few weeks. That also depends on how good the magic is. You have to be a smart shoper and get the better brand of seed.
Well I thought it was an interesting Idea..
hehe

The idea about going down to buy a house in the a pot is great. As soon as I read it I started to laugh, pure genius. |

Now that's what I'm talking about Blitz. The words add so much to the image, and also give us a better understanding of how we can offer advice. I think the hut should maybe look like those trees that grow in swamps, the ones where the roots kind of create an umbrella before they enter the water.
Anyway, just an idea.

The redo is much better. It's clearer that the hut was grown. |

Hahahahah
Thats the first thing my dad said when he saw it. Part of the reason for a redesign. Its for a childrens story. I don't want to get blamed for presenting falic symbols
What do you think of the redo. |

Reference.....I don't need no stinking reference
Thats a good Idea. I will do that more or less in the final picture. That will be in a while though.
