Just farting around this morning. Straight into Pshop, no scanned pencil. As you can probably tell. Crits welcome.

Awesome! Looks very neat. At first her right eye looked a bit strange, but it's under a hard spot of light, so it's ok. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/cool.gif) |

surferboi: have you seen her comic? They are pretty huge. Jim Balent was the artist that drew em that way.
Like two midgets in a headlock.
Them there are some big sweater monkeys.
Ok.. I'll stop.. hehe. |

Francis, I like the pic, but do you know the song "crosseyed Mary" (hint ) - imo sth is wrong with her right eye; I don't know exactly what it is - the glare or the whole positioning, but sth's wrong...
Do you use a Wacom? |

I like this one a lot, and the brushstrokes are very spoogeish in the blue areas. The lighting is nice and background works well with it.
The shadow crossing vertically through her face is a little weird, though. Not quite sure how to correct it, but I'd think it should follow the roundness of the cheek more.
Another thing is the leftover black outlines, those really destroy the otherwise good-looking pic. If nothing else, just get rid of them and it'll look very good.
That's all.

Pretty cool Francis. You are getting really good at drawing in PS. The lighting kinda bugs me in this pic though. Looks pretty extreme. I would think that it widen and disperse a little more past the nose towards the bottom. Do you think it would keep the dark contrast and curve in like that? |

Very nice work Francis! Guess you no longer need to pencil for photoshop images, this turned out very very well! |

looks great, the lighting is awesome, reminds me of somethin spooge would do, only things that stick out are the black outlines on her lips, and her arm seems a bit small.
good job ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |

Nice work (AS USUAL)...the brush strokes
are kind of spooge-esk, or if they aren't
painterly are they spoogerly? Where is the
spooge man any-who? I'm kind of rambling...
anyways nice pic man, how 'bout a whole scene?

Hi, thanks for all the tips. There definitely were a lot of rough spots with this. I tried refining the shapes a bit and losing the linework - that was a good call, as was the hard edge of the shadow sort of not following the contour of the face. I don't know if I necessarily corrected it in this version, but at least it's not as obvious. And she was a bit cross eyed. No good.
And actually I wasn't consciously trying to imitate Spooge, but I think there is some of that influence creeping in.

That looks great Francis. But you are missing one little thing. I imagine you are drawing this after the comic book version? Should she have some hair flowing around there? Looks good regardless. |

Just in case you're still working on this, it's a lot better now, as is the vertical shadow.
The cross-eyedness didn't really bother me, but now that I look again, her left eye looks half-blind because of the soft gray cover, also softening the black mask outlines with darker blue would look more natural.
Her nose seems to be a bit off perspective as well.
Still, very nice.
