Crappy camaro modelled by yours truly. Background by someone else...topwallpapers.com.
There are tons of flaws with the model...hehe. It was fun to do anyway.

Hhehe better feedback from me:
Use more metallic/chrome/reflective material on the wheel caps and the metal thing in front, instead of PLASTIC looking material :)
Glass is awful, but keep in mind i can only say whats WRONG, cant say how to fix it because im a newbie in 3d :(
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: That background is suck ass!! ehhehe sorr

[Shizo]: Agree with background sucks ass. Looks like the NOS blew or something.. Surfacing is my weakest thing. I'm trying to learn with this one. Gotta put on some alpha transparency imagemaps on the body. I've only modeled organic characters before this, so chrome, etc. is all new to me. Hell, 3d is pretty new to me! hehe |

and dont be upset about few replies, keep posting your stuff! It's only that there are many whore-like people here who only reply to "the best ones" with things like "ahh! i love it!" or "SWEET, keep it up man!".

I work with MetaNURBs as a guide, try to go as few polygons as possible before I do a final metaform (feature in LW that takes polygons and subdivides them while smoothing out angles). Then in Layout, Lightwave has a bunch of surfacing tools and features (smoothing is really good).
the tutes I know most are from FLAY.com and 3dcafe.com, tho I heard 3dark, and a few others have good ones also. I wish I had time to spend on tutes, but I usually don't (which is prolly why I don't know much hehe). By all means tho, if you know other good tutes, letem fly.
Thanks for the encouragement. It doesn't bother me that I don't get lots of posts.. hehe. More popularity --> more ppl spam your email box. Besides, I get enough freelance clients to know I'm good enough. I just like to throw some things out there for the sake of contributing art to a pretty cool board.

[Shizo]: Lightwave 5.6 modeler. I bought a brand spankin new copy off Ebay for a cheap cheap cheap price of $580 (of course, I starved for two months and sold 18 pints of blood for that money..hehehe) Now if I can only score my free upgrade to 6.0..
A.Buttle: Funny site. I knew those guys had a label of somekind.. Check out this page, for import-sticker lovers and their Honda Civics http://www.riceboypage.com/
Myself, I own a 90 CRX (all stock) with a whopping 92hp! Soon, I'll have a 95 Galant with a whopping 140hp! wheee!

Xcal good one
Hey i heard about that "Free 3DMAX" project. It's basically 3DMAX bundle downloadable off the net for newbie game developers who, too, want to learn modeling.. It'll be cut on a few functions but you might wanna look into that in near future (IF kinetix folks are still working on it)
or is it Discripel folks? Or osmething like that hehe
good car, needs more realistic materials and reflections i think
