Hey, here's some screenshots from the Intro and outro that I did for our game IGI. Since it's been approved, I think it's ok to show this. Because of time, I've used much of the realtime characters and objects from the game (which all the artists have been working on). But, I modeled most of the background in non realtime, but keeping in mind that it has to fit the graphic in the game game and the detail level of the characters. Still it was quite a bit of work to model, lightset and animate it all...and get the right timing, etc.... If anyone is interessted and will download it, I don't mind posting the movies. Hope it looks ok...

You two and the rest of your developement team should be really proud of yourselves. The graphics look spectacular compared to most of the games already out. I hope the game wins you some awards! What is next by the way?

The screenshots look good, I like the first pic from your second post. How long did it take you to model the backgrounds and animate everything?
and
What does I.G.I stand for?
P.S No movies as I'll be tempted to watch them and the game isn't out in England yet, damn!!

Today I saw a few amazing animations of Metal gear solid 2, but despite that these look reaalllyyy good. Too bad IGI is too massive for our computer.

Well done. The lighting and textures are superb. Several Questions: Did you guys use the a proprietary shader or the max shader (vertex colors)? Is the game for the PS2? Is this for gameplay or cut scenes? I worked for Ubisoft for a bit on the Batman game doing concept design, textures, and models. Looks good

Joachim- Those images look great! I really like the textures on the top 3 images (Brick and floors etc). I was wondering, I don't know if this has been asked before but did you guys use Max to do all of this or some other software. All of the images look great would really love to see the movies.

wow, so many replies allready, thx you all for so much encouraging words (and even not even any bad remarks from some of the 3d gurus on the forum, hehe )

Some quick answers. The rendering is all done in max using the regular shaders. Nothing fancy in there at all. Except, I used a bunch of video post filters, which is fakes overlay effects. But, works quite well to make things seem more real, like with glow, focus, etc....Texturing, like for example that basement room or the chopper station, there'a hardlly any realtime from the game at all, except the characters, the rooms are modeled simple, but the texture on the walls etc, I'm sure is about 40'50 mb each
I'm sorry I haven't got the movie here at home, and the reason why I didn't post them earlier is that they are quite huge. I thought I could try to pack them in div-x or something to see if that helps?!? - I'll post them at once I get into the office, saturday or sunday.

thx again !

Top notch design.

This movie... does it show us what games on X-Box and Gamecube will look like in a year from now?

good gravy.

hehe, it's funny. i played my first IGI demo game just yesterday and am enjoying every minute of it. ok, almost every minue. i got taken out be the guy in the tower.

the environment in that game is awesome, i was also told that the engine is based on a flight simu's (not sure which one.. N Pak, you'll probably know about it before i do, please tell if you find out).

i like the second image the most, the hostage scene. the streaky blood stains on the floor make me wonder a little bit if people were dragged into the next room? heh, that would be cool.

Whow those screenshots rule- as does all the other I.G.I. stuff I have seen yet.
I am really looking forward to the game.

The only thing that makes me wonder (and don't flame me for that): couldnt your marketing guys over there have chosen a better meaning for I.G.I. than "I'm going in?".
Project I.G.I sounds intriguing but if it really means I'm going in it takes a lot of that mystery away. Kind of makes me wonder if the storyline will be able to hold up with the excellent graphics in the game.

Yeah yeah Nex... lets ask all customers who bought the game to return their IGI and we quickly remove the IGI name from all graphics in game, help files, box art, and movies
How about "Project: IEV - I EAT VODKA"
Haaaaa...

They are a few bad things I could comment on about the game, but I don't want to ruin the spirit of things, and the game is so great overall that they don't matter to much.
