I couldn't think up of a good background, so I just put together whatever. I know it's not the greatest thing to do, but I've been thinking for almost an hour without being able to come up with an idea for a good bg.

It's not that I don't like the pic... just not the flare

You seem mostly to use midtones and highlights, try to add more depth by using deeper shadows! Especially the suit and hair look flat. The lightsource seems undefined this way.

for the bg, why don't you keep her in space, and just have her standing on top of the space station? Like in stage two where she battles her rival for the first time?

and yes, I agree w/ko on the deeper shadows.. it'll maker her more contoured. the easy way is to select ulala and play with the brightness/contrast or the curves. try playing with the curves first so that it's a down curve on the left and an up curve on the right. very small bumps, if this makes any sense to you.

Nice babe! Just the shading looks very flat, put some shadows in there. And put her on her toes; like this the pose looks odd, IMO. That must be some tight suit...are her hands covered with that, too? It looks like skin.
