Hello,

Hm. it's been a while since i put an image, or have come close to completing an image now that i think of it Inspired by the recent painter-esque images i came up with:

the subject:

So, i guess i should explain. I'm doing my senior project on making an RPG (video game), and am currently trying to come up with a plot, characters, etc. This is one of the baddies in the game. Supposedly he's some kind of frozen desert human/creature who feeds apon lost wanderers. Captured at a very young age, he was put to work as a slave for [to be determined yet], injected with all sorts of chemicals (like the Juicers in Rifts) to enhance strength, make his skin darker and tougher for protection against the elements, and most of all, freeze/sustain his current health to make him live for as long as possible. Hence the appearence of being the equivelent of about 92, but looking 12.

i'm particularily trying to go for a sun light source, but can't seem to get it right.

So.. i need opinions, critiques, bashes, flames, words, images.. anything really.

oh yeah, it's WIP.

i'm going to stop talking now

thanks in advance!

*whew* really like the idea... especially the turban. Hehe. like tthat the best. Ok.. hrm.. i can see where you get that he's 92354902375209358 years old but only looks 10.. hrmm. that's really hard to portray. I suppose you can make him have a very old face.. grey hair here and there, but make his body muscular in strength. As for your sun light source.. it really depnds on where you want it. Looks like its coming from ahead, so might want to put a glare of the sun in his eyes and also squint his eyes a bit more as well.

As for the chest, I can't figure out what's going on with those tubes.... those tubes part of him or something? Looks a little strange..

Oh yah.. evil? He doesn't look evil...he looks innocent. But heh, could be all part of your plot to make him evil but look innocent. But if it isn't, perhaps add fangs, red eyes, furrowed brows etc.the usual

Looks really good! A harsh midday desert sun would cast stark shadows from an overhead angle. I'd write more, but I need to install the Alice demo. Later.

There is something about the eyes and the lips that is just.... life like...Beautifull
I am impressed.

I think the ears could use a little more work. More detail i think. Wow....

There's a lot of feeling in those eyes. Is it possible to make a meaner looking 12 year old face? It's a beautiful painting, but the face doesn't say "bad guy" to me. I like the juicer idea on the chest, very cool.

Ok, what the others said is right, the face and the eyes and lips do look extremely life like. But, if he's supposed to be a bad guy I would definately give him a meaner look.

And those tubes look like they go into his lungs to help him breath in the harsh desert climate, right?

nice man, but i would work on the chect a bit more, try and make it like the same texture as the neck, and very skinny with bones and small muscles showing though.

Dude... That is SO AWESOME. The detail on the face is insane. Inspired by Shadow Man?

Nova- That is an excellent piece. I especially like the realism in the eyes. You know, they say that cannibals are very agressive, possibly you could reflect that in his appearance. Maybe even some sharpened teeth for tearing the flesh. Just an idea. Other than that the piece is again, excellent!

hello,

thanks for all the replies.. i really appreciate it

EviLToYLeT, Delucubus: i based the metal tubes partially on the Juicers' character in the Rifts RPG. whe whole deal with this little guy is that he is powered by chemicals fed into his system that keep him alive. the tubes are a constant flow of these chems into the little guy's bloodstream. He has an implant on his back where the green tubes come from which is where the chemicals are stored. (golly, even i'm disturbed by this thought a little..)

StrangeFate, Fianchetto!, Skeezer, EviLToYLeT: thanks for the wake-up. i like to give very slight hints of things like 'evilness' or personality, in this case him being some kind of forced cannibul. maybe my hints were too slight this time

sacrelicious: what a game.. i went over to a friend's (N Pak) house on saturday with a few other people and watched him play the entire demo. hehe, what a work of art. that American McGee guy has got to be some kind of demigod.

Dryfire: i was originally intending on making him the skinny-buff type.. i'll get to it when i start working on the body.

Strangefate: hehe.. far from being the grinch..

Tinusch: I've read up on Shadow Man, but nah, any inpirations came from Rifts.

So yeah. here's the latest version:

Yeah, Alice was freaky and a half, wonder what they were smoking... I like the way this is progressing, very sinister. Sometimes lack of emotion is scary, especially in children. I think the subtle expression now is perfect. Can't wait to see more progress! Night.

Yessss, new version is even better. Very good expression on that evil kid! Now it is a more mature and hostile expression on a childlike face. Since that is what you were going for, you did it.
