Will we ever make into space to colonize? Are we ever going to be able to look past our primitive judging instinct? Are we going to overcome our need for self gratification over long term benifit? I look at the world today and I see people rushing around in cars, zipping along in their own self-contained worlds, will we ever overcome our humanness? I feel this ominous helplessness as i just sit and observe people, why can't i do anything? what could i do that would envelope and include everything in the entire world? what are we doing here? There has to be something. why should i care? i'm just a living mass of tissues which produces my conciousness via a combination of electrical and chemical reactions? Is there something more? Do we need unification? to bind every living thing on this planet together in pursuit of meaning? What are we doing here? why? god is not the solution, god is a divine mirror of ourselves, do dolphins have dolphin-shaped deities? god is a product of our own conciousness reflected against the invisible walls of infinity. Do we need to realize this in order to move on? religion gives us faith in living, it's an excuse to overlook the basic qualities of life that sit in front of our noses. Why not have faith in life itself? a conciousness of life devoid of any human bias? A respect and awareness for all that lives. What defines life? why must we feel so useless, insignifigant, when your mind contains everyhting in the world? why can't we float to the edge of infinity super-consious of everything in the universe? Observers of existance. |

that is the problem, people prefer to stay in their own little sensory bubbles of reality. Everything in the world you have ever known is percieved with your senses, thus it exists only in your mind and in your mind only. You can have no idea what it is like to be another person, their view of reality could be totally different than yours even if you percieve the same scenery. It is habit to consider everything other than yourself subordinate because you don't understand what it's like exist with their conciousness. You are your own god. |

try Wicca. it explains everything in all religions quite nicely, doesn't exclude other any good person from Hel (wicca heaven ) and we get any wish we sincerely ask for and is good for us

Reading threads like these reaffirms my belief that the human race is indeed doomed.
The essence of life is: We kill it, we eat it, we make it, we break it, we buy it, we earn it, we waste it, we lose it.
Simple as that. We're born to make more of ourselves. Then we die.

If God was a reflection of ourselves, he would be a twisted and evil being. but instead he the opposite of our human nature. why would someone want to make up religion? for fun? Buddhisim dosent look like fun. religion confines God, which i dislike. I like religion because it is a fellowship with people who belive the same as you do. God wants to break down our self contained lives, and become invovled in others.
