hey guys

got a real treat for you (at least i think it is...) First off, we've posted a picture for Icewind Dale by Justin Sweet:

Right Here boys and girls The link is to a standard wallpapers sized image 1024x768.

If anyones interested, I also have a version about double the size that really shows off the brushstrokes, and I can upload that too.

Additionally, I'm going to be doing an interview with Justin. He works at Black Isle, previously as an art director, but currently doing mainly production and ad art. If you've been living under a rock, Black isle has produced some of the best games ever including the fallout and baldurs gate series.

Anyways, i was wondering whether anyone had any questions that I could direct to Justin for the interview?

cheers

no, don't post the big one

please.. my 56k is dying as it is.

God, that pics insane. just look at that freakish detail on the dragon's head, too. it's wrong, it's terribly, terribly wrong. neh, i'm going to deal with this with denial

as for questions, ask him why he does whay he does, meaning the evil art he creates and why he is working for the game industry. it would be neat to find out what he eats for breakfast, too.. maybe we can eat what he does every morning and eventually be as good as him. don't ask. different things power different people.

Damn man! I think I know who made Fallout! Its only my favourite series of all time. Micro Forte is making Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, a tactical game similar to X-Com and jagged alliance.

Ok, on your knees Aussie boy, and kiss my feet, and utter sincere little apologetic noise...

This is a really great picture with amazing detail and colors... but I think the dragons pose is a little weak. His arms dont seem to fit well because he appears to be falling backwards but the guy is poised to attack. I think putting the attacking guys pose in the extreme final form, adding some object to attack the dragon would help or changing the dragon to be attacking. Still very nice.

I think the dragons stance is pretty good, it looks like its trying scare away the barbarian dude by making itself big and powerfull, a 'stay away or yo ass is myne' stance

yup...that one is a beauty.

the funny thing is that he did that extremely fast. If I remember correctly, it was done over the course of a weekend. He has done a lot of stuff here at black isle...fortunately for me this includes endless patient hours teaching me about color and drawing and painting. I think there may be a pic of his on the fallout site and I know 3d palette posted one of his fallout paintings for their post apocolyptic image contest.

as far as the fallout post goes...nope fallout is ours. I think 14 degrees east is doing fallout tactics but fallout one and two were black isle games.

Cos...don't think he has an online art gallery. You can usually spot his ads though as his style is quite distinctive.
Here's a link to the fallout image Jason mentioned: http://www.3dpalette.org/features/apocalyptic_contest/images/Fallout.jpg

If you want a larger version, there's one available for download here: http://www.interplay.com/fallout2/files.html (loading screens.)

Hopefully, when i talk with him, i can get a bunch of stuff to show off. yeah...baby
