Allo everyone,
I'm constantly working on building up my portfolio for a deadline in two weeks, mainly focusing on figure drawings and observational sketches.
<//edit: Here are some new pics I've made. The first two are some concepts, (the first being my version of Doug Chiang's droid on his site.) On the second one, I was trying a funny pose for that little guy. Then, the third pic is a drawing I just found. Made it about a year ago, and will hopefully get to coloring that soon and adding more characters. What do you think?
*edit//>
I tried Isric's game of taking a topic and just going at it for thirty minutes. I started with the figure and the pose, and then came up with a subway shot and went to town:
And this was just a fun sketch of a character in star wars. Always wanted to draw this fello:

Heh, I think that weird Jaba rat creature guy is called Silacious Crumb.
There's something wrong with the perspective on the guy in the subway car. His leg's and feet have a weird perspective, they don't look like they are part of the same person. His farther leg is longer and bigger than his nearer leg, which is the opposite of how it should be. His arms look like they have different lengths too.
That's the only one that really bugs me. |

I have no idea what's going on in the first pictures.... probably too late for me
as for the man in the subway, I like it. I don't htink it has perspective problems, I can tell that it was done very quickly... but yah, if your too lazy to mess with it, just make the right lef as loose clothing. Also, looks like the man just forgot something. Great expression. But , are subway windows really all white?
As for the third one..haha I like that picture. Very nicely done. Reminds me of that cookie monster from seasame street. |

Ben: Silacious Crumb eh? Always wondered his name, heh! You're right on the guy's perspective, will try and rework that.
EvilToylet: good tips, on the windows and clothes. As far as the subway guy goes, I was trying spooge's technique, like how he did the suit tutorial. Also, I was going for that rough look, but it just looks messy to me. Ah, well. Never give up right? |
