Hi all, haven't posted in a while...slipped
back into lurking mode.

Anyways I re-designed WorthlessFacts.com
to try and make it a little easier to
navigate. I was going for something simple.
Let me know what you think.

Oh yeah, if you want to compare it to the old
version you can see that here OLD WorthlessFacts

THanks...

Hey, nice job on the re-design. Your version does look much cleaner and easier to navigate. However, my only suggestion would be to create more contrast between text / background, or use some elements to seperate the two a little more.

Keep the same layout, as it works quite well, but I feel like my eyes are straining to read after a few minutes. Just my opinion.

Once again, nice job.

Thanks for the advice. I switched the bulk
of the informational text to white. Let me
know if that helps.

The background is kind of bright, you might consider darkening it a bit.

Well I switched the informational content back
to dark grey instead of darkening the background.
I'm pretty happy with it now, but am still
open to suggestions.

HEY!!! Feel free to post any worthless facts
that you might know in this thread or through
the site.

THanks,

The site is kinda addictive in that stupid sort of a way. I went for a pick of a look and found myself reading through all this worthless stuff. Yeah the new design and much better and I went to the new one first and had a good feel for the site as all the categories where on the main page. However on the old site, I didn't really know what was going on. One thing that I found difficult was some of your links. They aren't underlined and the blue colour is only slightly different from the normal text. It isn't inituitive and I think people are just going to miss too many links too easily.

Thanks Matt...I think you have a good point.
Originally I kind of wanted the different
colors to have meaning like anything black
would be a link, white would be informational
and so on, but I think that may be a little
too intuitive for some people. So I kind of
reversed the roll-overs. Links are still
black, but are underlined and then the underline
disappears when moused over. I think it works
a lot better that way.

I can't believe none of you has any worthless
knowledge to share!

Netscape during the dessign process, but not

I have a worthless fact. I cannot remember where I read it but here goes.
The word "fuck" has it's origins in medieval times when you needed permission from the king to mate with your spouse. When permission was granted the couple would have to place a sign above their door that read F.U.C.K. which meant "Fornification under consent of king".

I checked out the site in IE and it looks nice... I like simplistic design and color combinations. Just gotta make it work in Netscape and it'll be better.

RobT: That is a good fact, I thought that it
stood for (F)or (U)nlawful (C)arnal (K)nowledge

hmmm....I guess they are both good?

Jezebel: I swear it works with Netscape, no
really it does I just screwed up one little
thing in the code which I didn't know about
and since Netscape is such a big stinking
pile of %$#^*&%#%**&^%%$# but I sympathize
with the Netscape users so thats why I bothered
to make it compatible in the first place and
come to find out that unbeknownst to me it
wasn't (isn't) really working....but it will!

I will save the day, right after I stop my
drunken ramblings....goodnigt for now
