Hi
I'm going away for a week to Hong Kong, just for some time off.
I was going to post this after I completely rendered it, but had a different idea for it instead. If anyone's interested, I'd really like to see people's renditions of this basic page (colors, but also dialogue (well, internal monologue I suppose, since there's only one character.), story, etc.). This was just going to be a one-page practice kind of thing for me, so I don't really have any grand ideas for it.
And yes, it's pretty derivative - 5 parts Ghost in the Shell, 1 or 2 parts G-Police and a helping of pretty much every cyberpunk future cop urban dystopia themed manga/anime from the last five or ten years. Oh well...
See you guys in a week or so.

I love the first drawing there. nice composition!
This is the first time I try to color comics. It was really fun! Sorry for ruining all your nice details though =)

Though the buildings and their linework are similar to shirows work i think your characters, action and posing look more american style. Still, it's beautiful work, of course! I like the city scape a lot. I just think the action is missing some frames between panel 4 and 5. Keep it up!
Nice job on the color everybody! Adds tons of atmoshpere. |

milkman heh i think i know what you mean, now that i look at the couple of things i've colored and the stuff that others ahve done - my stuff is very diffuse, no highlights.
and the lighting is pretty undramatic.
i kinda like it that way, but it definitely lacks some 'oomph' :)

Really nice page, Francis.
Here's my try at coloring it. It's not finished, i worked mostly on the three first panels when i realized it needed a lot of contrast, but i don't have more time to work on it.
Hope that at least it shows what i wanted to do.

Hey guys
Those are looking great! I only have a few minutes - I'm sitting at a public terminal in a Hong Kong coffee shop, and there's a twenty minute limit per person, and I'm on my nineteenth minute and there's a 10 year old kid breathing down my neck so he can go look at Pokemon or something.
Anyway, I see a whole buncha new posts by people I don't recognize, so probably a lot of people are wondering who the hell I am and why I'm posting this stuff...
Oh well, thanks for your time!

it seems a bit like a bit of bladerunner a bit of fifth element and a bit of stuff from the 2000 AD mags. she's a bit too tough looking maybe. but the point of view is exelent. I could picture it slowy zooming out and you see the whole city from a birds eye view while passing through clouds of smoke and stuff. |

I quickly knocked this up the other day. first time I tried this 'comic' style colouring and learnt a few things. It is interesting, I've just always seem things in terms of lines. I look at some of the other posts in this thread and I can see where people see 'objects' and colours. If only I could figure this out. (I didn't finish it cause I thought it was crap and I was tired)
hehehe. Yeah i got a little to happy with dodge and burn and it looks like the building is glowing and alive.

eetu, i think the foreground girl and building especially are very good. the background just needs a little refinement.
