I did this right after lunch... so about 6 hours ago :P I've already decided that the head is too big. Her right arm has been a pain to draw. I can't seem to get it right, so I left it like this. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

She looks a little stiff right now. add a little more flexibility into her. as for her right arm, it's currently too long.. the elbow should be right where the bellybutton is if you just let your arms hang loose so adjust according to that. great picture! like the translucent evffect and the jeans. |

I think her right hand is too small in relation to the other. Does that sound right?
I would maybe put more arch in her back, I think that would breath more life into an otherwise stiff pose.
I Really like her shirt.
Very nicely rendered.

Awesome job, I hate to say this, but she looks very "Final Fantasy 8"-ish...she looks like the main chick (Rinoa I believe), definately a beautiful girl! I agree with the head being a tad too big, but if you shrink it down a bit, do her a favor and don't detract from the cuteness. As for the arms, the upper part of both of her arms are a little too long (reference the above post that says elbows are at the belly button). About the hands; I think her left hand is too large, and the other (her right hand) is just right for her slender frame.
That's my two cents, I hope it helps a bit.

I think the head looks fine. But you're right the right arm is a little awkward. I think all you need to do though is make it a little shorter. Just kinda rase up the elbow, and that should do it. |

I think Skeezer is right concerning the hands!
But espescially her hair and the jeans turned out quite well. |

great man. I like the airly feeling of the pic. nice hair indeed.
As you mentioned the right hand is weird...
f-shortening is always hard.
somebody already mentioned her pose is little stiff. and casting shadow has to be vertical
for this pic. she doesn't look like
leaning on the wall.
nice transparency on her shirt too.
great job Chan!

This piccy is pretty cool. You have managed to capture a 'petite' female fantastically. I agree the head is a bit big but I love the translucent effect and generally the clothes. I think they are really well done. With the hair, I find as you get to the ends of the strand, there are not well defined enough and too blurry. I haven't thought too hard about the proportions on the arms but there might be an issue with them.

By reading any average book about body proportioning, the head is obviously fine. The head determines all body proportions, so by increasing the head size you have put her in a younger age. As is with this head she looks about 15, with a smaller head, you could bump her into her 20's, although this head changing obviously won't work after the growing stages of the subject's life. |

wow, really nice
it looks very professionnal; you can really feel somethin looking at the pic .
Sincerely, it s the most amazing manga pic style i ve seen for a long time, not only for the technique but also for the feelings emerging from it. really cool
Btw, i agree with skeezer that the right hand seems to be too small |

just mein crappy suggestion (sorry i paint it quickly using your pic as reference)...
hope you get the idea. Your rendering is good just need to check proportions - keep in mind female 'formula' 90-60-90 or so. Of course it dosen't matter if you wanna draw comic/manga characters only. Anyway great stuff chan, love her face and mood!

Great pic, like the colouring and the look in her eyes. I don't think the head looks too big but it could be that the hand on her stomach is too small, compared to the hand on her waist it looks smaller. |
