Something I whipped up yesterday with painter. I think there are some(many) glitches in anatomy and perspective. What say you?
I had this one up few days ago. Like the guy above she isn't the most sensitive person around but I'd still like to hear some more comments on her too.

HRmm.... I aint too great on my anatomy. But i think that the hips on the 2nd girl are a bit wide and also on the first guy, the foot thats closer looks a bit off balance and awkward. But I really like your black and white style |

Bubonic: Thank you. Who is this Travis Charest guy? Is there any sites where I could see his work? I'd really like to see it.
EviLToYLeT: Thanks for the comments. Well I tried to do more natural looking body but I guess the upper part(arms) clashes a bit with the lower part of the body.
Yeah, I really had difficulties with that guy's foot and obviously it still shows. |

Hey Rhomb, Very cool pieces! I love the look of the bottom character. Would be great to
see you develop her some more..
To offer some crit
I think on both the pics maybe think more about where the lightsourcing is coming from and
try and exxagerate that some more..
first one,
Something about the guy is looking a lil stiff right now, might be good to loosen
his pose up abit so he is less rigid.
His chest is looking a very square and detached, if you put some more white
to make the shoulder connect to the chest more and give it a little more shape, it
should flow better...
His left leg is maybe a little big, either that or try make his calf from knee
to foot smaller cause it is looking a lil too exxag.
His left arm looks like it starts from too high a point, try lower it and then shorten
his forearm to make the perspective on his hand look more correct.
second one,
I like this one as it is, just maybe the arms are a little unclear like whether she is
wearing something or not. I think it might because there isnt that clear a lightsource..
hope any of this helps

Hey Cos, many good pointers there. Thanks a lot, man. I'll try to work more on the things you mentioned.

For the record, if I were you I wouldn't change the body shape of the woman at all. She's much more realistic now than the typical "warrior babe" illustration. Very cyberpunk vibe.
The actual illustration of the orky-guy-whip dude is fine I just think his pose is a little stiff. It's hard to detect in which direction the motion is flowing. I can't explain it very well but you should be able to draw a line along your character and actually trace the flow of motion. Can anyone explain this technique better? |

Thanks for commenting KNau. Don't worry, I'm not going to change her body type. Still that doesn't mean I'm not open for every kind of crits and opinions.
I think I know what you mean by this "line of action"... yep, should've thought more of that. |
