Damn you people are ignorant. I've enhanced the picture I posted earlier. It took the program about 10 hours to enhance the picture, but the result is quite impresive! A friend of mine Andr O. Zodom provided and helped me with the program, which is quite difficult to setup correctly.

I don't know anything about that, but Andr O. Zodom told me that he only enhanced the part within the border. |

Don't expect software to give you superb
results. You can't zoom without a certain
amount of blur, distortion etc.. (yep, they
don't use FACTS in hollywood as a basis for
their movie scripts haha).
Some ex demosceners made a nice zooming tool
called "s-spline" :

Maybe they could sell it to nasa or
spielberg

Yeah, Andr O. Zodom also has one of those, they sell those at WalMart (but only to 3L337 P03PL3).
No offense pisangkecil, but this dickweed friend of yours is making fun of your ignorance. |

You obviously don't have access to programs such as I. I was able to enhance this picture taken from a satellite to great detail. (I left part of it censored for the younger viewers)

You watched him for 10 hours?
The real funny thing is you don't know who I work for. When I say it isn't possible from that picture. You should believe me.

if this thread is not a hoax then we might see the first result of a specimen raised entirely with movies and computer games here.
I think it better they drop the bomb sometime soon.
P.S. pisangkecil: did you ever watch that low rez pic and compare it to the "high rez" version?

pisangkecil, never fear Tiger is here!
I will distract this unruly rabble away from your misguided line of questioning and allow you to back away slowly and save face. All I need is the proper question that will transform your thread into a well informed query by comparison......
<Think Think Think Think> Ah!
<Tiger Eaten stands up and starts waving his arms around madly.....)
"So............I am very intested in video editing. I just watched this rad .mpeg of clip from the Matrix. I love that movie but the only thing is I really wish that the characters didn't always wear sunglasses. Is there a quick way I can edit the clip and remove them so I can see eveyone's eyes? I was wondering, if there is a filter in photoshop that will let me choose and object in a film and then just have it removed from each frame automaticly? I think they did something like this in Starwars TPM when they added and removed characters and backgrounds in the film!"
<Tiger looks around with big innocent eyes. BLINK BLINK>
< Long uncomfortable pause...... >

I ran my image enhancement program on the enhanced image of the number plate....
I think I may have set the zoom factor too high though.

There ARE programs that can enhance images. I know someone said it before but it's not fair to rail on this guy so much. If you scan in am image into your computer the machine must use an algorithm to consolidate the pixel data. That means the space between a red box and green grass gets a pixel color that is some color inbetween. By looking at the picuture as a whole you can certainly extrapolate data from that that is not readable in the original photo. Similarly you can use the same technique over time to see peoples faces that are fuzzed out or mosaiced out on shows like "cops".
A more practical solution would be, if you own the negative, to just get it blown up. That should have all the informaiton you need on it. |

it really dosn't take a genius to figure this out
compress 4 pixels down to a single pixel
you are left with the value for that single pixel, unfortunately there are plenty of combinations of 4 pixels which will give you the same colour when compressed.
therefore it is NOT POSSIBLE to blow up a digital image, and gain quality.. The best you can possibly do is make a guess as to what it would look like,
and programs will never be as good as humans at that

Someone brought this up along the way... but quite seriously:
there is a program that takes two 2d shots of the same object, and if you define the edges, it will make a 3-d rotation of it. |

That's only partly true Fat Penguin... for instance take the picture below:
400% pixel resize
400% paintshop smart resize
400% smart resize + I added extra detail
As you can see the 3rd picture looks more detailed that the second... this is because I enhanced some edges...
I believe there are algorithms that can do the things I did in the 3rd picture
(as for the license plate on that car, I don't think there is enough info )

Damn I'm studid!... Andr O. Zodom was joking about it. He faked the picture in some program.
We were hoisting beer... a friend of Andr: Simon Ukkel, Andr and I were talking about this 'image enhancer'. Simon began to laugh very hard, when he heard that I fell for Andr's 'joke'. Andr admitted he was joking after that.
Well anyway I still don't understand why it wouldn't be possible... maybe someone could explain it to me as if he'd be explaining something to a 5 year old kid. |
