Very interesting image and I wonder what you've been thinking lately. Very Marilynn Mansion / Spawn-ish with a nice array of colour thrown into the mix. I guess the one thing that harms it for mine is the border. It just doesn't look finished. It appears that you had the base image, constructed a border, set it to overlay (or simliar blending mode) but didn't actually try to get a greater interaction between the two.
The other things I'd consider doing is making the 'scratches' stand out more and a bit thicker. You might also like to work on that thing between the fingers on his right hand. It looks like something that could be coming out of his chest but at the moment it is too blurrly and bland/black.
There are also two large dark black areas either side of the character. Consider doing something with these. At the moment they are more like dead space. Sure they cause the viewer to focus on the central image but why not chop out the two black areas, crop the image so that it is a 'portrait' rather than a 'landscape'.
just a couple of ideas.

lol, havent you noticed by the picture that maybe it's intent was to be somewhat harsh? It's not too awfuly pleasing to look at. but it's good craftsmanship. (spelling)  |
