I have been wandering through this forum for a while now and what strikes me is that every girl painting is either a "warrior babe" or a "biker" babe... or some other real nasty bitch holding weapons that weigh twice as much as the girl. Do you guys have any links to digital paintings of "girlish" girls.. a lil less dangerous and nasty? |

do you realize 80% of the kids online these days have not seen a normal looking girl in a year or so?
or a non-jpeg one at least..
i'd guess this has something to do with that :P

OOPs
You just described to a tee what I am working on now.
Personally after drawing "real" women in art school for four years I find it kinda refreshing to put some armor and guns on them. I just think it is fun.
I think it also appeals to the male desire to see a sexy chic that could kick some ass.
I do use my fiance as a reference, otherwise my chics come out looking like Aeon Flux. I think it is important to stay somewhat true to form.

That would actually make for a pretty good thread. Put people to the task of posting the "most" heart string pulling girl they can produce. Bet we'd get some cuties on here. I think I'll give it a whirl but for some reason a lot of my girls end up with fangs by the end of the composition.

All you guys are talking like there aren't any girl artists on this forum... and I know for a fact that there's at LEAST one. I'd hazard a guess that it isn't only me.
Oh well

This is a painting of Angelina Jolie I did in Painter a while back, I think she is sexy, and very womanly. And without armor, lol ;0

Whoa......
All hail Shane! Painter of things that don't suck!
*bows*
BTW Shane, do you remember an Epic game called Solar Winds?
That's an old one. I remember in the demo, when you finished they had this thing asking for people to send in resume's or something like that.
I think they were just starting back then. I'm not certain though.

BigWings, Skyraider: Thanks, there aren't any real techniques that I know of for doing hair, you just have to take time over it. The hair was done using a paintbrush in Photoshop set to variable opacity.
