Was wondering if there was a method to go about drawing crowds.. a highly populated arena or osmething without having to draw everysingle one of them.

hmmm, this sounds like you might be drawing a concert of some kind? well depends on what style youre going for, if cartoony you could just draw a balanced front "layer" of people that are detailed, then in the background just draw outlines of the whole crowd. then just add a little detail but use only one color and a darker version of the color for the crowd.

Use the focus of detail idea to do it. Id est, put a bunch of sensible colors, define a few shapes, leave the rest undefined according to their proximity to the area of interest. Remember that a mass of people blends into itself, making one form. See how masterfully DaVinci uses the merging of form in this painting:

here's a way you might use...

first I just use the pencil to draw the heads.

Then I draw on the clothings (Shirts And Pants)

then I do the hair.
