IGI NOT FREE?!!!!!!!11@@@$$
heheh, well then i hope it'll be popular enough for warez so i can play it too.. Although i'd enjoy much better using AK-103 in game instead of AK47, 47 sux!!!

Hey no offence but in Russia kids are grown without legal crap in their heads, so everything that's not physical is free hehe.. but food isn't free!! LOL.

Unless you wanna send it to me.. i'd thank you! (and dont forget to change AK47 on AK-103)

Micke, they're so realistic...they look great. In fact Project IGI just looks goddamned great. I mean i was excited about it b4, but since I started working on the article about it, man, I've just been blown away. I'm definately adding it to my christmas pressie list.

A few questions: (hehe, sneak them in to my article too...)

1. yeah, what are the poly's on these babies?
2. What sort of technique do u use to skin these? Are you just painting digitally like normal, or are you using photos etc?
3. Can you target weapons in enemies hands? eg. can u shoot the weapon out of their hands?
4. Bigger pictures!
5. Is Project IGI a free game?

Good stuff man.

5. Is IGI a free game?
6. Will you change AK47 to AK103 if i find you really high res pictures?
7. Do you need any Russian voices therE? hehe like "I FOUND AK-103!! SWEETNESS!" (in russian).
8. When are you gonna send it to me?

Micke, those look great man. Really nice stuff. I'm still waiting for Project IGI to go gold! ;D I only have one little nit-picky crit...I'm kind of surprised that you went with a NON-integrated silencer on the H&K Mp5 (but I can understand if it's for gameplay issues)...but since you did, most silencers are about 1/4 longer....no biggy.... Great job man, they look great

Thank you for your replies everyone..
Poxen: Thank you! The release is 8th of december. The game is gonna be a kind of
Golden eye game with a few more elements and strategy, made with our Terraform technology.
I think you would enjoy playing it.

Shizo: I've never heard of a AK-103 before.
Could you show me? Ak-47 is a very common weapon that many use. That's the reason we have it. Were not gonna change it, not my call and not enough time(1-2days left).
Oh God!!! Why did'nt we think about that before about the voices? We needed voices, but not now. We've worked out something else. You would fit perfectly, cause we were wondering were we could find voice talents that talks in Russian. It would be really cool to use you, i mean it.

Immi: Thanks
1.The poly count ranges from 500-600 polygons
for each weapon.
2. The textures are made after carefully studying photos of real ones, some are painted digital and some parts are scanned in order to save time and fixed in Ps to match the same style. We use the UNWRAP UVW fuction in 3d studio and move the coordinates
manually, i think most people use that one.
I pretty much learned 3d studio on IGI.
3. Sadly, no.
4. Sure, i'll post them later.
5. He he, NO NO NO AND NO
Zaphod: The MP5 is silenced.
Wrath: Thanks! We tried to make the silencer longer, but it looked too long in the 1st person view and people complained so i shortened it down a bit.
Faustgfx: I can put up the textures after work.
cheers,
Mikael

Hey micke, I noticed you had some "painted in" highlights and specularity, are the realtime weapons affected by regular and colored lights within the IGI engine? If not, nevermind.. If so, how does it look with the combination of calculated light and pre-painted texture?

Heya Micke - those look great!

I notice you've got a Taurus 'Raging Bull' .454 Casull revolver in there. I recently had the pleasure(?) of shooting one - now I have to wear a wrist-brace for a while - I'm not kidding ... ouch!

Napalm: Yes, it looks more effective and you can fake things that actually is'nt modelled in because of the limited polycount. The biggest reason though is that we the coders did'nt have time for any enviromental effects like shinyness and enviromental mappings.Too bad It looks quite nice in the game, though.
Loki: You're back! What have you been up to lately? I know that feeling.. Hope you have a permit for that "raging bull"

Hey Micke, I tried out the demo
Great job! It was really cool!
damn hard too heh, they be shooting through the walls n stuff. Nice gun effects, but the AK47's muzzle flash looked kinda weird.
Sniping is fun hehe.
I will definately "buy" this game
