Hi Guys

I'm new to coloring and painting but I'm learing so much from the images posted here on the forum.
I'm currently making a Santa image (for a postcard) together with a friend and I could use some coloring advice.

I made 2 colored versions so far :

Cheers

I think you should put more contrast in the image, maybe a little more color, and personaly I would clean up the outlines. The color bleeds across the lines.

Very cool though, a little different than the ususal Santa. hehe.

the first colored one is good, the colors need to be more typical santa. make his clothes more red.

cleaning up the lines would be good...UNLESS you want that messy halmark card look, then all u need to do is darken the lines, and leave the colors bleeding, clause its kinda cool that way.

color rudolphs hooves!

and rosey cheeks

out!

I think the soft, dull, muddy colors work well with the type of linework you have. The first pic looks great except for all the bright saturated areas. Maybe tone the bright colorful spots down and make it look a little dingier, I think that would help a lot.

I'd agree with Tinusch. The first one looks and works fine. You may want to try to make the santa suit a bit more reddish. And, if your going for the more realistic look.., try to make the colors more solid first. In other words, just work on the first one cuz crayons suck
