Hi

I dont know if there is one great book. But I think that, "Alla Prima: Everything I Know About Painting" by Richard Schmid, is one of the best.

good luck

Hi there,

So I think "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards is a good book for beginners...

I must concurr with raiden, drawing on the right side of the brain is exetremely helpfull, though is (obviously) very centered on drawing. I'm probably not the best example of the use of the book, but never the less, I'm glad I own a copy of it.

It's only what, 16 bucks now in US?

Hi

I thought that he was looking after a book for painting and not drawing. If he is looking for drawingbooks there I am more brave to say that there is one book I could easy say it is the book to have about drawing.

Its "The Natural Way to Draw by Kimon Nicolaides". This book is a must. Bettys book is cool but it is only one side of the coin. you have to have the other side too.

cheers
Eckhardt
