Uh, right, halfling or something.

And sorry 'bout the name, Love Hina made weird grooves in my brains. I'm still trying to iron them out.

Very sweet, she's a cutie, basic but with a great style.
If you sharpened it up a bit and gave it a little more contrast then I'll be drooling.

keep going!

The "large" BG portraits are 110x170 (small ones are 38x60), so any sharpening I do will be solely for personal ambition. I agree with you about the contrast, I've been too shy with the shading lately. Time to break the habit and smack around some virtual paint (oom.. new layers anyone :P)

Though allitle to Mangah i my opinion, but thats just my taste...

I knew a japanese girl named Shinobu in college, she was gorgeous.
I love this pic. Very deep style. I kinda like the atmosphere the blurness of the image creates. Clothes look like they could use some more work. Other than that its tight.

The clothes are heavily work in progress and they'll receive their share of fiddling before long. It's just that they'll probably end up sucking. And then I need to try and fix 'em for the next three hours.

Time to stop whining now, thanks for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it

The details won't be lost-look at Jason's(Manley) pics. His portraits show great detail even when small. I like this pic, just add more contrast. Good job!

Ok, refined the face and tightened the facial features to give her a couple more years. I messed with her clothing too, and will mess with it a bit more, I think I'll put in more color variation or something.

[edit]
Uh, when did I say I wouldn't put in detail? It's just that I won't put in unnecessary detail like individual eyelashes and stuff like that. The blurriness comes from working with big soft brushes (I had my fill of hard ones some time ago and now I've been fiddling with the soft ones).

Given that the final res it's going to be used in is so small, adding that kind of detail would be overkill.

Working res 1100x1700.

aghblah enough rambling for now.

I like it. She looks cute. But I dunno, the background could use some work and maybe sharpen up the thing a bit.

She's beautiful :)

Looks a lot like one of Helene Schjerfbeck's self portraits...

faustgfx: ...I fear like a teddy in a hailstorm :|

Yeah, I tweaked the picture some with brightness&contrast and noticed that my palette is too damn lo-contrast. Hm. Oh well, I'll try to do something.
