well, strangest colors for me at least. this all begun when i was splashing color around in painter and thought that i should force myself to do a pic with colors i normally wouldn't even consider choosing. i'm actually quite happy with the result and i'm sure i at least learned something new.
tell me what you think.

that s very cool
i love the composition and that man
btw , the green looks too .. green (that s my opinion) it makes the hands and arms look like goblins ones ; i love the idea of changing color but this green seems to catch the eye too much.
The face is awesome, it reminds me the guys of the movie "Darkcity"
toasty

Nice -good to see people experimenting outside their usual domain.
One crit... the white back lighting / glow around the left of the head gives it a slight 2D embossed to look 3D feel. (Hope that makes sense!) I think it may just be too thick, since the similar effect on the hands looks fine.
Other than that - top work. Hugz Ampa. |

the colors are supercool and I really dig this paintingstyle. its like all these british comicbookartists like bisley, glenn fabry and so on. now Im gonna make a search for your former posts... |

Great. This is interesting looking painting. Striking and very fresh colors indeed. There are some problems with the hand anatomy, especially with the thumb but that's not a biggie. Anyway cool composition and everything. Makes me wanna go paint.

wow. thanks for all the positive replies!
Joachim: thanks a lot!
Mum: thanks. surrealistic subject is also diversion from my normal work along with the colors.
Lukias: yep. bisley influences for sure i haven't got a site but if you want to see more you can browse some random crap here: http://www.saunalahti.fi/~jannep1/workish/
toast!: thanks! i agree with the green being a bit "strong". darn, i don't remember how those darkcity nasties looked...
Gecko: thanks again
Chapel: thanks, i really like people seeing this as refreshing because that's what it was for me to do it.
Tinusch&daz199&deranged: thank you!
Ampa: it makes perfect sense and you are right about that. thanks for pointing it out.
Frost: thanks! i hope the speed of the server was tolerable this time?
marc_taro: thanks a lot!
maxwell: thanks and thanks for reminding me that there's a movie i have been trying to check out a way too long time now! i have to do something about it
faustgfx: original resolution was along those lines so i posted the fullres version too. it's quite loose though but those who are interested go here: http://www.saunalahti.fi/~jannep1/workish/mitakummaafullres.jpg
Xoco: thanks. yes, bisley&imitators have had an impact on me for sure.
BooMStick: thanks a lot! i really think that painter is at least worth trying out(the interface isn't _that_ bad). my workingspeed gets a big boost(compared to ps) from the intuitive color palette and the ability to scale the brush on the fly(alt+ctrl). and of course it has superior control over brush apppearance. i actually made a new brush for my own set during this pic to suit my crosshatching needs in that hand area(better seen in the big pic).
Solitaire: nope, that's not me. but thanks.
Rhomb: i'd guess there's plenty of other anatomy probs there as well... but i agree, especially hands are something i should study a lot more. great if i got you inspired!
phew, that was a lot. but whee, i think i'm a real member finally.

Janne: yes it's fine at home, but slow from work (sorry=))
Boom: yeah, I got to paint with it the other day as a test. It's... different (but I think I prefer photoshop as it's faster and I'm more productive with it).
