hopla

i just got a new scanner.. i'm always looking for interesting highres textures so i thought i'd attack the kitchen!

teaser:

i spent the night scanning, had a whole lot of fun and ended up with a few hundred megs of interesting stuff.. (plus a room smelling funny

in the end not that much of the stuff is actually usable as textures, but it's always nice to have some weird hires stuff as buildingblocks..

i thought i'd share some of the stuff, perhaps someone else will find a use for this stuff too or it might encourage you to be creative with your scanner too heh

'cos of the 8 pic limit i'll put the stuff in different posts. sorry for the thread size, modemboys

eetu.

okay i don't claim that these are in anyway interesting images per se, the point is all the interesting detail.. the originals are really huge, i'll show examples and a link to a 'medium res' version (still quite big, but that's the point..)

well i'll start with some of the weirder stuff (playing with food is fun :)

I think this is by far the weirdest post I've ever seen here. This is like the digital version of Sploshing (don't ask if you don't know .. i'm quite sorry I do know).

A proper use for "kaalilaatikko" :)
Can't stand the stuff myself but there are people who just love it (the stuff that looks like catfood on the first picture)...

bandit: actually that is 'maksalaatikko' :) (same rules apply)
and i did scan catfood as well, but it was a bit too wet to look good.

ex, i did the shopping with this in mind :)

sa'ge: the bubbles are frozen there, it would be just too cool if it was liquid..

superdrawer: yea i know my mom taught me not to play with food a long time ago.. something must've gone VERY WRONG in the meantime :)

ee.

ok here's a short explanation :)

the photos:

1) some kind of liver something, no idea what's it called in english.

2) kiwi fruit

scans:

1) ketchup with some pineapple-flavored cake decoration things.

2) ketchup and wheat flour

3) that liver stuff

4) inside of mandarine (is there such a thing in englsh? a small orange) peel.

5) bread

6) underside of a pizza

7) inside of mandarine peel

8) bread

9) bread

10) inside of banana peel

11) that liver stuff

12) like the liver stuff, but with carrot instead of liver.

13) my hair :)
