spooge: That has got to be the worst attempt at comic coloring I have ever seen. Great painting though. |

I love the shapes of this drawing, as all of your others feng.
Spooge, you did an EXCELLENT coloring job. The way the head is hidden in shadows, and light appears from the tits and down Also, the light touching her legs helped a lot on the actual pose. I wouldn't mind all comic coloring being like this
(actually, your coloring of this do remind me a bit of frezattos style, if you know him, he's a great comic artist.)
A lot of nice jobs from others too.
I wish I could see you finishing off yours too liquid, you have a very nice start.

Yes, yes, yes!
I was hoping Spooge would do a color version. Wow, great work! You just added tons of character to the already great line art by Vortx.
I would really get into comics if some were colored like this.
Do any comic artists color like Spooge did here? Its so rich and full of life.
Great work everybody.

Nice character! Reminds me of vebjorns recent one (the hairstyle).
Spooge: Haha! Don't you think she'll get really angry if you point that flashlight directly towards her crotch? Then again, it might turn her on, she looks like enjoying it. Just kiddin... Nice coloring! |

I'm not sure about this, but I think that if a book was colored in spooge's style it would raise the costs of the book.
Rog[666]: nice style. I like the choices of color.
spooge: have you ever thought about or been approached to do a comic book or graphic novel? Would be cool to see you do a mini-series. Then next thing you do pinups and become a hot commodity... then you become high in demand. Next thing you know you have your own company and you can hire Francis, Rinaldo, and me to pop out books for ya. hehe
There is a thought. "Sijun Comics" or "Spooge Comics". So much talent here it could be done.

Man, i'm learning a lot from all of you guys! Thanx!
I have to get to work, but i'll definitely write a more detailed mail later today....thanx again!
And i'll get more line art done....this is fun...

Vortx, since it's your art, I wanted to ask for your permission to post it on my site, too. Credit will of coarse be given.

I thought I would take a swing as well. I had a lot of fun althugh I spent too much time (other work to do:-) Either way, I think the background works but the female kind of got lost somehow. Oh well.

Well even though Spooge already posted on this subject and I feel silly even puttin' somethin' up, I spent my lunch waiting for our computers to come back from virus attacks and did some comic coloring on this popular piece...

Wow! I never thought posting a fun little sketch would have this kinda result. Since there are tons of paintings now, i don't have the time to go over each one. However, i think they all look great! I especially like the many variations people came up w/. It really opens my eyes to what's out there.
Man, now the pressure on to paint this up myself...gulp. =)
Again, great job guys! **tear drops from my eye* And thanx for sharing your knowledge w/ me....
And of course you can put your colored versions on your website.....tho a link to my page will be nice =)
More drawings are on the way....=) Hmm....so should i draw a sweaty dude or a sexy chick next? hmm.....
-feng
ps. I attened the ILM holloween party over the weekend up at S.F. Just wanna thank my friend James Zhang (awesome concept artist) for inviting me. I had the chance to also hang out w/ Jason Manley...i'll post some pictures soon....=) He did a great job of painting his face.... |

Solitare, 10 hours?! Wow, thats a long time.
I think you need to work on speeding up. I don't have a tablet either, and I mine took only about 5, tops. Even after some background redos.
I like the color choices. And the blood. I'd rethink the glares. They look like you just used the airbrush to spray them on. (which I'm pretty sure is exactly what you did.) Try not using just white for them. Try using the eraser at a low pressure to cut into them and make them not so uniform.

Yeah you're right with the glares - I was too lazy to add a background so I used the gradient - I thought a spice up with glares would put more life into the whole "composition" ...
But what I am more unhappy with is how the copper and gold parts turned out (maybe s.o. has some tips )...and the hair needs more contrast!
more crits please - I am still a novice in digital arts |

love the sketch feng. you got some serious skills. one of these days i'd love to see you do an image that combines your environmental designs with your character sketches. but perhaps i'm being too forward... keep'em coming as you see fit . |
