Wow, man! That's great! Skating has been one of my favourite hobbies for ten years or so. I love it. This reminds me about my background. Nice feeling.

Keep posting, gontaro.

I have to agree with Micke the arms are way short. THat wouldn't be a problem I guess if the character wasn't looking so realistic. I also want to add that sometimes you tend to put too much hard shadows in some areas, like her sweatshirt, and what should be a loose cloth looks like carved stone Textures (and folds) are tricky to render (I know something about that

Other than that, great work man, I really dig it. Would we have a chance to see some of your work inked, or even in full color?

Another nice piece Gontaro.
Like the design and the little outline of the boarder in mid air.
Couple of questions:

Are the lines that clean before you scan the pic or do you adjust it afterwards?
and
What grade pencils do you use?

You have one of the coolest styles I've seen, no shit.

Yourmum....10 years, shit, I've been at it for eight and I thought that was ages.

Hey, ever attempted any creature drawing.....I'd kill to see what you came up with.

PS - yeah and Tony's kid is starting to rip......whadayaknow.

Damn, your good.

It's not his arms that are short. Compare it to his head and body. They match.

His legs are too big and long.

The way you always draw peoples hands gnarled up weirds me out. But I can't seem to get enough of it.

Tony Hawk may be 38, but he's still a badass. Have you ever seen the old skate videos he used to do where they would all skate pools with board shorts and checkered slip ons? They RULE!

burnout: thanx, I agree w/ his board is a bit bigger compare to his body...how come I never noticed that when I was drawing...
you like the colored piece I did? *L* that was a quick color man...it took me an hour.
I have to do more of those then.

SporQ: thanx, bulky??? what's that mean?

phreaknasty: man thanx. I never got that kinda compliment before *LOL*

Yourmum: thanx, I just want to draw a black kid w/ skateboard and for my own practice I wanna be able t get it right. black, white, hispanic or asian I wanna get it right and doesn't look weird.

Psionic: I donno...If I'm gonna color this or not. I didn't draw this pic as a colored piece.

micke: Yeah I was checking earlier this morning on the lightbox but as the way the pants are on his hipbone I think It's about right...no??

black_fish: my colored art is in my website
click on the front image and you can see one of my colored art. Is the face realistic???
I still think it's stylized though...
and the arm is short too? hmmm I have to double check that again huh.

Axl: Is it clean??? tha...thanx man*L*
I don't adjust any curves but I mess w/ channels on PS. it's pretty much the way it is. I use HB mechanical pencil on a xerox papar.

Lukias: thanx, creature drawings? like monsters and shit? I used to did a lot of
drawings of those but it's some where in my file...I gotta find that disk someday...

Seraphire: thanx man*S* god is in the details,
hands and the face*S* I usually do couple gesture drawings of hands before I draw a character sketches. it works you should try it too.

A.Buttle: yeah...I admire his ability...I'm 27 but I'm not as near fit as Tony is. increddible...

steady: You don wanna be me *L* trust me I'm one ugly Jap. *LOL*

Gestures... I know.

I've been working on coloring. But I really need to spend some time a get back into pencilling.

I stopped drawing awhile ago and I'm just awful now. I really need to start sketching again, and get back into the rythme.

Seraphire: yeah, the gesture drawings will loosen your hands and prevent from stiffness(?)
the most fluid and increddile lines I saw on the web is the artist called Alan Tews.
his drawings are just simply brilliant!

Merlin: *L* I'm glad that you like my drawings
did you save my photo image too? *L*

Gontaro, the picture is great! I love it.
You're a great inspiration to me.
Also, Alan Tews artwork is great just like you said. He's been a big influence on my work. Even though I'm not that great.

Well, keep up the good work. Post some more soon.

Sweet! I think anatomy, poportions and reality is a far second to style and mood, which you have mastered here in this picture. I mean if you want it to copy reality perfectly just take a picture, right?
