Sheesh it has been a long time since i last made something with my wacom - or at least finished.

I've clearly "overdone" this one, and i cant tell if i should fix anything - been staring at the monitor for so long i'm getting wall-eyed. Any thoughts on this one ?

edit : messed my ubb again .. gotta have more coffee ... Eek ! his right arm and hand are all fcked up

i think there's something wrong with the pipe.. functionally.. the umm tube part should connect to the bottom of the umm other part. dunno..

otherwise it's reeeaaally nice. i like the sketch
too.

the right hand seems to be the right size now.. i still have a nagging feeling that he's a bit lacking in the wrist department

some of it reminds me of the 'old man' render by jeremy engleman, have you seen it ?

eetu.

That is a sweet looking image, the mood it gives off is nice, kinda relaxed, but still alert..at least thats what i get from it, nice job.

Hi, man. This is very moody pic. Especially I like about the man himself. He looks nice. Reminds my of Vinminen... Err... I mean Vaeinaemoeinen. Hehe.... really cool.

I agree with eetu about the pipe problems.

Just two things I would like to direct your attention to:

1. The clouds are kind of smudgy whil th rest of the pic is vry sharp. Looks a bit odd.
2. The composition. A lot of sky in thre. IMO, it would look better if you took about 1/5 or so off the top.

Thanks for the comments ..

affected : its going to have the word " Gandalf " on it, so the composition does look a bit different without it. Well, anyway the text is a problem.

yourmum : looks like vaeinaemoeinen to me too now that you said it.

i dont know why noone is looking at this pic, its very cool.. the only thing thats bothering me is the perspective on the chair, it looks like his left side is higher than his right
otherwise, very cool image... is he the personification of the storm?

ahh damn you're right ! ill have to fix that ..

Storm personification ? ehh - i was thinking of Gandalf the white .. though i have no idea why he is sitting on a throne way up in the mountains ..

My dad is going to "publish" a cd, ie. make a hundred copies of his bands music to send to friends ( and some relatives ) - and naturally i get to make the covers. Aaaand since their band is called "Gandalf" they wanted to have Gandalf on the cover ..
I'll post the initial sketch for this while i'm at it.

This sketch looks more like santa smoking weed than Gandalf so i dumped it ..

Great work very nice painting. I like the whole idea although I would add a little smoke soming out of the pipe just too add to the mood. Also fix the right hand it looks a little small compared to the left hand.
