I was refering to the horse nearest the viewer, but I think I'm starting to understand why -- thanks for clearing me up!
Also I forgot to mention I liked the greater addition of the browns from the flames, as it starts to balance out the browns from the horses. For the white and yellow, I now think you can certainly keep it.. it just makes everything more exciting. If I was to be nit picking, I would suggest to drop the value of some of the whites down a notch...but that's nit picking!
Your call, of course!

I certainly see that my picture is confusing, the fire was so strong, yet that didn't totally show on the shadow hidden part of the knights and horses.
I will kill my darlings in this pic. I see that the fire plays out the main parts of the painting. The combination of white and yellow that way is too intense. Will tone it down. Maybe that can help me to keep the subtlety on the shadow parts of the horses, increasing the warm ligth a bit more than how it is now though.
So toning down the light areas of the fire and increasing the lighter areas on the shadow parts a bit.
Thanks a bunch Nightime!

Hi Pierre
I think the values in the fire are still too intense.. as Tinusch pointed out with the too bright-white.. if you convert the reference photos Fred posted to Grayscale, and convert your wonderful image to Grayscale, you may be able to see the difference more clearly
Also I'm still confused why there is a strong shadow on the horse's side that is facing the fire (our left)
