Here is another all lens flare picture. I used Photoshop and KPT 6 for the flares.

that's wrong and evil or something
yet it's shiny and glowy and sparkly and so visually enticing and pretty..
don't try it again though, dear

Hey zarck, try that with a shitty computer that can barely open Photoshop, and can barely move a layer without crashing you asshole. Why don't you try to make a picture with all lens flares if you think it's so easy. COME ON. Do it and post that piece of crap.

It's so shiny, hehehehehe, shiny, wooooooooooooooiieeeeeee...
But seriously, nice art man. It's got a hypnotic deally to it. But maybe that's partially due to the fact that I'm half asleep, who knows, but nice art!

for the first i dont have kpt6 so i cant use that aray filter stuff.
for the second i dont have eyecandy so i cant use the filter for the border. (which was in eyecandy last time i used it anyways)
and ok you have a slow computer. but hey? its not harder to make this kind of ... on a slow computer... it just takes alot more time...
i dont mind filters/plugins and such when its used in professional way. but this is just obvious abuse of filters/plugins.
i guess everyone does those filter/plugins when they start use photoshop...
ive made a couple of images like that too a couple of years ago or so... (think they where made on a p133 with 16MB ram)
theres nothing to it and they nothing im proud of... no spirit in them.. just cheap eyecandy...
(please excuse my bad english) |

Zarck, I'm gonna be nice about this, but how can you presume to know what's in the spirit of someone you don't even know? Maybe for_you_that's how it is, but how can you judge Sephy by your standards for yourself? We can all improve ourselves, especially when we're new at something, but don't be so harsh. It_is_a good picture, and it is so regardless of how it was done.
OK, enough rants for me.

periadam: i never said that his picture didnt have any spirit.. i said that mine dont have any..
but i hardly doubt that any five minutes (can be 1hour depending how slow computer you have) filter/plugin picture have much spirit..

Sepiroth in the short time you have been here you have been here you have posted 2 pics with lens flares. This alone proves they are easy to make, and although they are pretty and all they really are not that interesting. Try actually D-R-A-W-I-N-G something. Anyway nice pic. |

Zarck: Well, maybe YOURS don't have any, but Sephy is someone I know in real life, and he works damn hard on those pics. It's not as easy as you'd think. A lot of precision envolved in it.
Dives: That doesn't prove anything. Sephy's been doing them for the past few months. Long before he joined the forum. |

Yeah, I did my pics way before I joined this forum, I didn't just whip them up and slap em on. I worked for a long time on these pics, so don't think that just because I posted a couple in close proximity, that I did them in that time, because I didn't.

Zarck: I spent over one week on a single piece of artwork. With pieces like Libidine up there, I spend at least 5 days working all day and all night. There may be cheaper ways to do it, but I like rendering the flares individually and moving them each one by one, and aligning them with eyesight and occaisionally a ruler. This way, I have to think about my next placement, because I only used a background layer and every flare position counts. Libidine was however, done with a few layers because I was just taught by the talented Periadam how to incorporate layers in with my artwork. But the same ammount of time and effort went into making it. I have lots of people who can verify my work, so don't be thinking that I'm some cheap ass who whiped these up in a matter of minutes.

I personally think if any one was to make use of lens flares, this is the way to do it. They look pretty nifty. Like a kaleidoscope or something... sorta hypnotic.
It's not like he slapped a lens flare onto a knight in shining armour to make him sparkle. =P
That's not to say I don't want to see you draw something Seph, and you prolly should have kept your lens flare art in the same thread. Let's see what else you can do! |

uuh i was talking about the pic at the top and those of sephys don't seem too hard to make either. But certainly harder than that lens flare thingy. |
