ok.. so ive been listening to funk music to much lately. that's not the reason im posting though.. I finished this picture up a week or two ago but didnt want to post it up here (on account of it being pencil, and my sucking and all). After a bit of encouragement from Chris (liquid), I guess i will

I drew the original as a pinup, i wanted to put as much detail in it as possible. Chris gave me some pointers on general composition (thanks again man!) and how to make the picture work better, and here's my redraw-

Hope you don't mind me posting this. I think the composition would be a little better like this.



Reason being is the pic looks a little unbalanced with the space to the right. I don't know what Liquid! told you, but the original picture really wasn't that bad. It just didn't focus on what you wanted it to focus on. If you were trying to put an emphasis on the environment then it was fine. You just needed more detail in the surroundings. If the emphasis was to be on the characters then you would want a tighter shot on them.

By the way, if you went with my crop.. I would move the moon about a half inch to the left and add clouds.

Yah sure Superbug, so long as i get to see it When I draw I try to keep in mind how it would look with color to make it as exciting as possible

chapel i agree, i drew it on regular size comic book paper (10x15 image, 11x17 page size), i started drawing it in the middle like normal but I thought it looked a little funny floating there in the middle, so i extended it to the edges. good catch. if it were to be a final printable image, i'd bet it would be cropped like that

the original one didnt work i think because it was intended to be a cover picture, so the chracters were to small. also the fore/middle/backgrounds are a bit screwy i suppose

Its difficult keeping all of these things in mind (among proportion, perspective, composition etc) while making a picture. still learning.. always learning

I would change the oobies a little bit... they look too much like drawn on circle and it's a tad weird

To further illustrate my point I went no further than the Victoria's Secret website. Now it would be hard to say that most of these girls don't have very nice oobies. I would just like to point out how their oobification differs from yours.

Hey Capn. just thought I'd let you know that I haven't forgotten I'm colouring this.
I'm doing it inbetween other bits and pieces and figuring a few things out. got a lot of it done but playing with a few things in it.

Its a very nice pic.
You should also concider working on the guy's cheeks. It looks as if he has something in his mouth (eating part of the dead guy maby)
