Here is another comic page I colored. I also pencilled and Inked it. This is from a comic I did a few years back called Death Angel. It was a comic I created. Still practicing my coloring. Unfortunately the image lost alot of detail and quality because I had to shrink it so much for putting on the web. The place Im putting my images have a file size limitation I must meet.

Oh! You wrote that you drew and inked it. I missed that! I thought this was some art from Joe Maduera and was colored in by you. Since you drew it, it changes my perspective because I'll admit I don't draw full scene pics at all.

(jumps to other topic posted on coloring...)

Not bad. I'm not a comic book afficionado, so I don't really know what I like about it.

I'm not complaining about your coloring, just the poses and the layout of this comic. They stand around looking buff and don't even open their mouths to speak

And the guys in silver are like "Hey look at me, I'm standing behind the red angel! Wow dude!"

I agree with Sergenth. The characters are very Jim Lee-ish, and I appreciate anyone who can use that style to its full effect. But the layout is freaky. I mean, he's supposed to be conversing with them, yes? so why are they standing behind him, flexing? I mean, just a second ago (panel before) they were in a group in front of him? who the hell spins around and talks with his back to people? oh, and the posing thing may be a little much. I'm not trying to knock you, or anything. YOur lineart is still sharp. Your coloring is not exactly up to par with your lineart, but that'll come with time, I guess. Forgive me if I come across as critical; I always found it better if people found what was wrong with my art, and pointed out EXACTLY irked them about it. So, yeah....

good work. Keep posting!

Hey, thanks you guys. I have no problem with criticism. In fact I invite it, its what makes us improve.

A couple things I should point out, this was drawn and colored about 3 years ago. Back then the craze in comics were the buff, superhero look. The layout couldve been better. The main angel was actually supposed to be surrounded by other angels, hence the ones in the background. I didnt establish that well.

Ill keep posting. I have some fun stuff Im working on now that I'll post soon.

One thing that I've noticed from your previous posts is that the images lack depth in the coloring. I'm gonna try to explain, so bare with me. The individual panels get lost in the whole, they don't stand apart from eachother and the eye keeps getting drawn back into all the detail that fills the whole page. I think darker shadows and more contrast between the panels would help, for example the central image could fade to black on the sides, especially under the other panels, then you could put a light background behind the guys head, that would pop the drawing off the page and I think would help separating the panels from eachother.

Just my two cents, and if I was a little confusing, don't ask cuz I don't even know what I just said, haha.

later
