I started a nex post because the other one would have started to be too heavy on download size, tell me if i was wrong to do so ... (here is the url to original post : http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/Forum2/HTML/006244.html )
SO, i listened to your crits and tried to correct most of the mistakes, i tweaked the faces features : I lowered the eyes , raised the mouth and reduced the length of the nose and made it looks more like david breanaz's one.
I think the mouth isnt still right, it looks too feminine, i will try to look at this and i will stop with this picture, (i really begin to be sick of it hehe ))
WHen i started to draw this i wanted to think more of shapes but i think i still ended going to much with details, there isnt still enough contrast and different values for light and shadow ... I will try to do better the next time, that was only my first try
here is the pic :
crits and comments are always welcome ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

Not sure if this'll be any help, but the reference photo shows the guy more bonyish. and he's also got wrinkles on forehead. Might wanna shove those in And plus, there is almost always glare in the eyes. Hope it helps! |

yes sorry for starting a new post, but i thought that the other one already had more than 300k of pics so maybe people would get pissed and wouldnt wait for the new version to load
for the eyes i think the left one should be a bit more close to the nose (and hid by the side of the nose), and for the mouth i think i will redraw it completely, it is weird right now.
I also think there is some problem witht he neck but i cant figure what it is, if anyone can help me with this ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

here's a really quick overbrush. Sorry, didn't put too much time into it. I wish I could.
The overall shape could need some work. Freds head tutorial and the way loomis did is so good, to think more solid shapes in 3d. Try to build up boxes that shapes the head. Get the proportions more in place. Also, the same thing about the light, now it's very clean and soft shaded. But, to give the shading a bit more edges in the right places you can give the head a much more interessting look, and more depth. think of a face as a combination of many hard and round objects.
a bad attempt, but I hope you see what I mean...

hello joachim, thanxs for the reply, your quick head is really great for a "quick" work, i see what you mean, and that what i tried to do first (and i will try even more for my next pic) , but this is a portrait of angel from Buffy the vampire slayer, so i need it to looks like him
but now I unserstand my neck problem, it is simply too big and i understand more the shape of the mouth too.
here is one of the photo i used for my pic, in fact i first did a basic head with rough shapes and lightning and then i worked it to looks like Angel, it was , i think, an interesting exercise because i had to adapt what i saw on the photo to another angle and light setting and i think it made me think more in 3D ... well im not sure but i think it was cool thing to do
if you can point me out to the errors regarding this guy anatomy please do so if you have some time
thanxs
edit : yes fo the light you are totally right, i also think i could have choose better my values and add some more colors in the shadow areas, but i think i just want to fix the anatomy issues of this pic and go to something else, for my next pic i willd efinetely try to have better lighting and values, but i dont feel like changing it for this one i think

Micke - Well, it's obvious the face you see in real life the most is yours, so you are bound to draw it without knowing it looks like you. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

sorry for the lousy background but i didnt had any good idea and i think this one is not that bad so i will bare with it
I'm a lot happier with the color values now since i added some blue in the shadows, it really add some depth.

I think you should fix his lips up.. and vary the skin tones on his face.. he looks a bit sickly..
Other than that great job...
how old are you? |

Thanxs for your comments
Freddio i am 19, almost 20
I know i have to fix the lips, but i find it very hard, but i will try
for the skin tone i want to keep it a bit sickly like you said, since the guy is a vampire (in the tv show ) so i think he needs to have a fairly pale skin tone. Maybe i might have choose better values , but I think i will let it like it is now, I really dont feel like working more on this picture ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

I think what you have done so far's great, but his chin's a little twisted, and his ear stands out too much. That's it, I guess. I don't think there's any way you can correct the twisted chin, but it was just something I had to mention. |

Sure its that Angel guy alright but he seems to have a tinge of Harrison Ford crossed with a bog body - No, I like it but in the next portrait maybe you should start with a strong skeletal (skelital?) structure just to get definition in the face. |
