Well hes sitting on a ledge with his lowerback up against the wall, which makes the shadows on the wall start where it is.
if you have any suggestions that would be great ... |

I think it's a very good start
There are, however some problems with perspective. The left hand looks like it's seen from the front and it is too big. It does'nt connect with the rest of the arms perspective. It is also a little bit too long. There is also some perspective problems with the bench wich he is sitting on. The shape on the guys legs suggest that they are wieved from the front, but the bench is viewed from the top. The perspective and shadows looks pretty much ok.
The shadows could be little more darker and harder maybe.
Hope this can help a little... Overall i like the drawing a lot. Keep up the good work

His hand is pretty big, not sure if you did that on purpose though.

oops, yea i realize how big the hand got, i liked how i drew it first, and didnt realize how big i made it, so i didnt really want to erase it.
thanks for that explination micke, I think i understand, to make it appear that hes sitting would i have to lower the back of the bench lower near the front of it?(if that makes sence to yah....
okay thanks people for the feedback!

Neat burnout, i really like your style.
After reading Micke answer i realized the perspective problem, but in fact it didnt caught my attention at all first because i thought the upper line was some line carved in the wall, or some paint change on the wall or anything, but not at all the back of the bench. and I thought that the bench was really seen from front and that it was represented by the 2 bottom lines ... and if i think of the pic like this it seems very right to me (i hope you understand what i tried to say, my english is not very bright when it comes to this sort of explanations )
I think that if you want the bench to eally looks like a bench you have to darken a lot the area under it, since yout light seems to come from the upper left corner of the pic.
well, its late, sorry for my rambling
i hope to see a new verson of this great pic soon (colored version maybe ?) |
