Here is one of my very firt comic colored pages. I drew the artwork. Its based on a creator owned comic I created called SINJA that was published a few years back by the now defunct Lightning Comics.

Looking for any critiques and comments. I have lots more art on the way Thanks.

I think the purple is a little harsh on the picture. The background probably would have been better as a dark dark blue or grey. Also, the lighting you tried to put on the green guy shouldn't be the exact same color as the background. Nice pencils though.

Another thing is the main guy is the one that should probably be effected most by the background lighting.. not the two side characters. Because he is the main focus and the two side characters are really on another plain than him. They could have completely different lighting all together, but make sure the main character gets the most focus. On your other post there isn't enough contrast to seperate the figure from everything else. Everything seems to blend in together.

Its 2am so I'm rambling.

Really use to like the book. Always wondered what happened to you, haven't seen anything from you in years. Like the three ninja chicks that you had a book going on too, don't remember the name. J. Cleary you got to come back.

Thanks FrstyCow. Sinja and the other comic youre referring to, The Four Kunoichi were alot of fun. Due to the comic market downfall, the company that published those books(Lightning) had to go out of buisness. Eventually all titles were cancelled.

After Lightning went out of buisness in publishing comics they tried to start a Toy company which didnt succeed. It was that point I started Sculpting figures. You can check out some of my work at www.darkstormstudios.com. Be aware that that site hasnt been updated in awhile.

I have since been working steadily in other illustration fields as well as commissioned sculpting.

I am thinking of reviving some of my Comic Creations work for an Online type of comic open for everyone. I'll write, draw and color it. That sounds like fun. Well see what happens

First off, very nice linework. It reminds me of a cross between Stephen Platt and Jim Lee.

Now for the comments. You should perhaps do some more screening on the actual black linework, and to shiny parts (like the eyes) to add some glow to certain parts to add interest. Just make a new layer set to "screen" and dab some airbrushed spots over top, and you will get a nice glow.

Also, don't do your cuts in white, use a screen of a similar color of the base color.

I like the color of the background as its a great contrast between the green and red you have dominately in the characters, good choice.

Keep up the good work. With practice I'm sure you'll get the hang of it.
