I've been toying around the idea of trying to develop a Presto art of book for the last couple of years. The book
would just be designs and sketches. We have a treasure chest full of great art that no one ever sees.

Would you buy a book like this?

That's a great idea. It's always fascinating to see people's creations that don't make it into games... some excellent work that didn't fit the design, etc. Definitely interesting.

Ishmael : Five hundred Dollars.

Betty Johnson : Five hundred and one dollars.

Archibald : Six 50, Bob.

Tiffany : I bet a dollar, Bob.

And the actual price of the matching towel and sauna set is 469 dollars. Tiffany, you're a winner on The Price is Right!

Sure, I'll buy it.

I love all the concept work and map design in the original Half-Life instruction manual. It's rough stuff, but good.

I would buy it too. There aren't enough books like that. Too many "How to draw Lara's Tits in 3 Hours" books.

Wow, I didn't know Presto did Journey Man (knocks Presto up one notch on the respect-o-meter).

Japanese game companies do this all the time. Squaresoft for example releases "Final Fantasy VIII Perfect Works", one big book for each game they make. They can go up to 300 pages just for one single game! Sometimes they do concept art that _RULES_ that doesn't make it into the final product. Releasing a book prevents such drawings from going to waste.

I'd just like to add my "me too."

Do you have a publisher in mind or would you print it up yourself somehow?

Well I am wondering if there will be a couple of pages dedicated to me. Even though I don't work there.

Ok ok maby a small shrine.

hehe
Just kidn.
I would buy a book like that the second it came out. I am very interested in video game concept art. It is what I want to do.

Place me down for a copy.
Are you going to sign it?

Thanks for the postive responce. I'm going to comp it up and try to get it in front of some book publishers.

Just as disclaimer, In case you think I'm tooting my own horn. I would only be designing this book, not contributing art work and the book was my idea and not the other artist here at Presto. (didn't want you to think were stuck on ourselfs)

Maybe this could get some other people to think about books........Spooge, Vortx, dahib, ect.ect.
